Morning beans!

Well I think I've figured out one more piece to the puzzle. I have to give myself a capital 'DOH for this one.

As Purrcie's numbers come down, I test more. After I test, he gets a treat. These are Evo LC treats, but they are 9% and now I think he must be pretty carb sensitive cause he is up to 304 today after doing so great. I mean, the lower he goes the more I test, the more treats he gets. So that stops today.

What was I thinking??? ohmygod_smile


Tomorrow I will get the freeze dried goodies on my grocery run. And if it isn't the treats, at least it's one more thing I can eliminate.

So today he is feeling sluggish and grumpy. He started a fight with two of his civvies this morning, something he NEVER does. So he had brekkie and I'll monitor every bite the rest of the day.

Yes you are right--Feed the feeeze dried Halo Livalittles chicken, beef, or salmon(no carbs), Real chicken will also work, or any pure chicken treat-like Pure Bites...What you are giving is raising bg a bit--for treats.
Give yourself some credit! You are doing a GREAT job, look at all the tests you give!! that aint easy! & The great care you take with Purrcie!
That counts--Kudos to you for doing a good job, & everyone makes some mistakes here-Not a precise science--
Also ECID--ever cat is different...

What WERE you thinking? On the other hand, Purrcie was laughing his head off while he was getting all those
well-meant treats! That is so funny.
So, you have to do a few more of these things before you are in the lead for the DOH moments..I am WAY ahead of ya! :lol:

I use Wellness jerky treats. They are just meat and some supplements. Gabby's not a fan of the freeze dried -- except salmon and I don't like to feed anything fishy.

Also, don't lose sight of the bounce factor. Purrcie had a bit of green in the AM yesterday and it's certainly possible that he saw blue last night. This may just be a bounce.

Yep, bounce factor too. I am sure you are right about that! Add it all up and you get some numbers like we did this aM, but it's all good. Where do you get the Wellness jerky treats? Are they really hard like people jerky?

Yep you are right about that too! I don't know what spell I was under....hmmm, I did see Purrcie waving his little paws around my head the other morning when he thought I was asleep. "You will give me treats. You will give me treats".
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I've found them at Petco or I order them when I get a food shipment from PetFood Direct. They are a little chewy vs. crunchy. I don't see either of my cats chewing on them forever like people would on a piece of jerky. They are "stiffer" than a moist treat but still chewable. They are called Pure Delights.

Looks like those numbers are getting lots better. I'd suggest giving Purrcie some LC to slow the drop.

Ok we are making up for the screw ups today.
I was pretty surprised at the +2.5 156 as he had a good 3TBS of LC for brekkie.

He's been getting tastes of no carb raw between tests. He is so much happier when he is in green! (Me too!) :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

When I first started I thought great treats 95% meat just like you. My sister's cat is really happy about all the mistakes I've made for Tess! :lol:

Well, what started off as an Ah ha moment is now a way to go Purrcie moment! Looking good there Purrcie!!! Love the green on you!

omg and funny on the treats! I won't laugh cuz way back I did the same thing too. Mannie just loves tuna flakes, and freeze dried chicken. They work well for us.

Well, I sure feel silly letting this old kitty dupe me like he did. He has me totally wrapped around is pittypaws for sure. One look from those big liquid eyes and my brain goes to absolute mush! Of course he is highly amewsed and abuses his power over me on a daily basis.

Well, gotta go test before beddy bye. Ifn greens I may be up for a bit tho. Otherwise nite nite LL! happy greens to all of you.
