No xrays needed thank goodness for now. She thinks she has jumped off bed and hurt herself she was guarded during exam and voiced her resistance. She's gained anothet pound!!!! 14.6 up from 12.3 in Jan. She was put on Onisor for 3 days and if not better we will need to start steroids. Praying it works. Don't want to have to use steroids and mess up all the great work we've done. She refused to walk to show her, she hissed growled and swiped once missing me and the dr. She was not happy. Temp was normal, respirations little high. Other than that we call by fri if not better. Thank you all for vines!! MUCH LOVE from me and my girl head bumps:cat::cat::cat::bighug::bighug:

OMG - deja vu! Rex had to go see the vet less than a month after his annual check-up because he had injured his wrist. We suspect it was from him jumping off the bed and landing wrong. He was overweight at that time (his nickname was Fatty). He was put on Onisor for 3 or 5 days (can't remember). It did help Rex. He also restricted his own movement and we helped him with the stairs so he didn't have to use them until he felt better. This happened before he was diagnosed with FD 3 months later. Good luck with Phoebes! :bighug:

Hope Phoebe's owie feels better soon. It's kind of funny she refused to walk for the vet (inconvenient, of course, but funny-- she really has a mind of her own, doesn't she?). And good news on the weight gain! Yay Phoebe!
Isn't she though? Lol even the vet was saying how she wasn't gonna budge on purpose so she started wheel barrowing her. Lol I asked to film she said No! :)

I had a kitty who would turn into a statue at the vet. I used to video him on my phone and show that to the vet, otherwise she'd have no clue what was wrong with him. :cat::p Out of curiosity - which steroids and for what condition? With my statue kitty, we went to buprenorphine for the pain.

I haven't heard of a steroid being used for arthritis before. There are a couple of other things I would try first. Duralactin, as long as her calcium numbers are in range and she can tolerate the dairy, and hyaluronic acid, Hyaflex is one product that is good quality. You might also want to look at the article in the Health forum on the 2015 AAHA/AAFP Pain Management Guidelines for Cats and Dogs. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...nagement-guidelines-for-dogs-and-cats.134504/

Acupuncture is also a good way to handle the pain, but may be out of your reach.

Sorry about the owie. I hope it is better soon. Sending healing vines.

I had to laugh about Phoebes not walking for the vet. I took Boris to the vet today for his shots and asked her to check him over because of an incident this weekend. He had been stretching just about every time he walked anywhere, like he was stiff. Of course, he walked around the room normally and didn't stretch once
!
