Good Morning all,

Musette decide that she wanted to meet and greet the rest of the Fur Gang yesterday, and of corse they were all very excited to meet their new sister, although her first reaction was:

Whoa-1.jpg

But she did very well after the initial shock wore off that she was now part of a large extented family, and spent a good part of the evening hang out watching TV with us. She is starting to learn that if she holds still for the ear pokes, mom gets it done and over with quickly and thus she gets her treat faster...lol

Looks like she got a nice long surf on the blues last night as she was still in the blue at +9 this morning. But back to pink at shot time, so we will see what the day holds. Hopefully by tonight when the fireworks sart again she will realize that it is just noise and nothing threatening, and won't be so upset by them.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322

Lol!!

I think Gizmo would love the company. When I first met him at the breeders, he was hanging out with his siblings and another litter of cats (and the two queens). Including him, there were 9 kittens. It was a riot!! He immediately bonded with Gabby largely, I think, because he was so used to being with all of those other cats.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322

Well from what I had read in Musette's former owner's vet records, she has lived with another kitty but supposedly that cat bullied her, which is why she was thrown outside DECLAWED! However, after watching her with the fur gang I find it hard to believe that anyone ever bullied her about anything. Maxwell out weighs her right now by 10lbs and she is even ordering him around...lol.

And poor Lady Jane has never met a cat that is more hissy than she is, and Musette has already informed her in no uncertain terms that Daddy's pillow is hers! And I had to pick Musette up last night so the poor 80lb drooler could have his own bed to go to sleep last night. She had decided that it was big and fluffy and she wasn't going to move just because a smelly old dog wanted to lay down. For his part if I hadn't removed the hissing demon from his bed, I think he would have slept on the hard floor rather than disturb her.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322

Sounds like she's queen of her castle already! :-D
So nice that the rest of your family has welcomed her. Too funny about the drooler's bed  She definately is not shy about what she wants, huh?!!

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251

Oh yeah she knows what she wants, when she wants is and just how to get everyone to comply...lol. Too bad I will never see the cat that supposedly bulied this little girl, it must have been a lion or a tiger at the very least..rofl. I was even told off this morning after I tested her and went to shoot because SHE had to use the litter box, so I was just going to have to wait until she was done. She didn't care that everyone was waiting on their breakfast until after she was done, and threatening to break down the door. Once she had finished her business she calmly sauntered over to the bed jumped up, arranged herself on the pillow, then and only then was I allowed to give her, her shot.

She maybe a pastel Tortie but she has tortie-tude down pat. If I don't produce her treat fast enough to suit her after she is tested I get slapped..lol. But you just can't help but love her tude and all, when she turns that motor of her's on.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202,

Well she has decide to be less colorful today, just not the right color, yellow is pretty but not nearly as pretty as blue or green. But I think she has finally cleared the bounce from the 1u on her first day home. Now to see where she decides to head at +6.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 208

Well so much for my plans to get a +6 today, as Ms. Musette discovered the basement cat tree and that she could jump from there to the ledges along that walls (10 ft in the air). And that once she got up there mom is too short to retrieve her off of them...lol. However, tomorrow I will not be so easily fooled into letting her have her way, DH is bring me home a step-ladder so Miss Fuzzy-Butt can be retrieved from her newest perch upon which she sneers down out at her newest slave (me).

happy to hear musette is settling in!

just curious...
you noted her first shot (0.5u) once you were home was at 10:30pm on 6/25. how many hours later was the second shot (1.0u @ amps on 6/26)?

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 217, PMPS 41

10:30 am, I've been slowly backing her up 15 minutes at a time. Working on slowly trying to get her on a 6am to 6pm cst time schedule.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 217, PMPS 41

ah, ok. i was wondering if the low numbers on the 26th were a result of a little too much overlap, but that's not the case.
thanks for clarifying!

Jill,

No problem, I should have stuck that in my notes on her spreadsheet, but honestly that morning I was a walking zombie. I'm still trying to figure out how she got upped to 1.25u before I got her, she is a mystery wrapped in an enigma right now. 1u was obviously too high, then for awhile .5 looked like it was going to be good for her, and then today she decides to ride the yellows. I hate having to stick her so much but I want to get her to level out so she can start feeling the best she can. She is just such a little love and deserves to be a happy girl.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 217, PMPS 41

well, that's kind of why i was asking. i was trying to figure out reasons behind the doses because something seems off, but i can't put my finger on it. i think you're on the right course though. collecting data is the way to go.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 217, PMPS 41

About the only thing I can even remotely see that has changed for her in the last 48 hours is yesterday it became legal to start firing off fireworks around here. And the neighborhood does sound like a warzone right now...so maybe stress? Otherwise she is eating well, playing, purring up a storm when I go hold her. All I have to do to get her to start purring is kiss her on the head. Which is kind of why I'm holding steady with that .5u tonight and waiting to get in at least a +2 before bed. Just got a ketone test on her...zero for ketones so why she is staying so high is baffling.

Re: 6/28 Musette AMPS 322, +2 251, +4 202, +7.5 217, PMPS 41

fireworks and severe thunder storms are enough to raise BG numbers in all of my cats (not just the diabetic).
glad she doesn't have any ketones!

Love how she's such a big shot that I'm just so in love with Musette! Can we have some more pictures pleeeeeze?

Re: 6/28 Musette PMPS 417, +2 260

Okay I'm going to stop trying to predict where she is going to go. After the 417 pmps I thought maybe, just maybe if I got really lucky she would have dropped into the 300s by +2, but once again she wants to keep mom guessing. Oh well, tomorrow will be another day, let the adventure continue.

I promise, I will try to get some more pictures of the divine Ms. M tomorrow.

Re: 6/28 Musette PMPS 417, +2 260

yikes! that red must have been a high before a break.
that's a huge drop. the +2 *should be* about the same as the ps number. i know it's late, but please follow this drop up with some spot checks.

Hi.....I have not posted in your condo before so welcome.
Musette seems like quite a character.

Whenever you see a big drop especially at +2 it usually means an active cycle. Most cats will food spike by +2 or be close to the PS number. That may or may not be the case with Musette because ECID but since you are still trying to sort out the numbers it is a good idea to test more when you see such a big drop.

I look forward to hearing more about Musette. :-D
