Oh my goodness! What the heck is this!!!!

Could this possibly be a bounce? Could he have gone so low on one drop during the night??? Oh goodness! Now a question would be how much insulin should I give?? If anyone is around could you please give me some input?

Going to feed now, be back in a few. Thanks

I for sure don't know but my first thoughts were at the vet, got mouth poked at, got AB for bad teeth, got a tiny dose of insulin, IDK, you think it's a bounce?

How is Spot now after having eaten something?

Thanks guys for a quick response. As I was feeding I was thinking that I didn't give a WCR.....

He is acting ok...came for his test and ate his snack. As I was getting their dishes ready he made a trip to the LB and did a tinkle. He then sat in the dining room...which is a really unusual for him to do during meal preparation. He is usually right next to the action on the counter, looking and waiting for his dish to be presented to him. I called him several times, but he didn't come. I finally went into the DR and gave him a special invitation, and he walked right out to the kitchen. He meowed a little and I picked him up and put him on the counter. This is also unusual since he doesn't require assistance with getting to the feeding place. He ate about 1/4 of the dish and stopped, so I put some freezed- dried chicken liver dust on top of that and he ate almost all of it except for about a teaspoon. After he ate, he went into the living room and started to groom himself. He is now just hanging out in the LR, doing nothing unusual.

I was also thinking that maybe his shots are having an effect on him, which they usually don't, but who know. A bounce, not sure..I'm thinking highly doubtful, but it was something that popped into my mind as I was posting. You know, my initial reaction upon seeing that number. We haven't see something like that since he got really sick in November.

dunno for sure but i doubt he'd have a bounce that big off a drop of insulin.

as you've started with only a drop of insulin you might have more leeway to go up rather sitting on the first dose for a week or so. it's your call but i think i'd just chalk it up as one number.

doesn't sound as if spot is too concerned so i wouldn't be.

I didn't want to get to far off of schedule since there is very little leeway for tomorrow's dose, so I made an executive decision and decided to give Spot an added drop of insulin. I think he needs it with this number. Will keep an eye on him since I am off today (yippee, second off day of the weekend, first weekend off in I can't remember when, and yesterday was my first day off since June 2...I am enjoying, lol).

Spot is lounging on the back of the couch, trying to get in some btb'ing so I think I may just join him.

Could very well be his teeth.

Thanks Dyana and D. Nice to have validation for some decisions :-D Hopefully this is a combination of shots and teeth...and maybe a forbidden found morsel somewhere along the line. Just checked on my lil bud bud and he's snoozing nicely...and this time, I will be joining him!

Thanks, Barb..didn't see your post until just now!

He's coming down , almost 100 points, which is good. It is evident this time, that he isn't feeling to well. I can especially see it in his eyes. He wouldn't come for his test...just laid on the back of the couch and stared at me. He went out to the kitchen, jumped got up on the counter and sniffed at his snack and turned and walked away. I sprinkled some dust on it and he ate most of it. Got down and laid in a nice sunny spot in the DR until and drooler civvie Ali started to bother him so he jumped up on the bay window sill. He is laying, meatloaf style, looking out the window and sightseeing. Well, now he jumped down and I thought that he may want to go out to his chair, but no. So I took him to his window seat and he is now looking out the window there. I hope this doesn't last long

Spot has come down quite a bit, you must be releived to see that. Hope you see even better numbers.

going up a little, but 6 points isn't much. He has been a little mopey this afternoon. He was somewhere in a hidey holefor a while and I couldn't find him. He then came waltzing out of his grammie beans room. He sat with me for a little bit, until I took his test, then he ate a small piece of treat and is now laying on my bed.

hang in there deb. this is all teeth,infection.been there done that. was dosing wheezer 4x/day and still had high numbers.

Aww Deb, I was so sorry to read this post.
I agree with Dian..it is all the infection causing his numbers and discomfort.
Just a thought, how old is your insulin?

Spot spent most of the afternoon outside on his chair snoozing away. He wanted in and then went over to the couch and laid on the back and snoozed some more. Wasn't all that interested in coming to the kitchen for dinner...he actually went to the door to go out. I picked him up and put him on the counter. He wasn't interested in food, so I put lots of dust on it and he at it all except for a tiny bit. He then promptly went back to the couch and he is still there now, cat napping.
I believe this behavior is due to his shots from yesterday. Vet said that he may be lathargic w/no appy, and that's what he is. He should be ok tomorrow.

Sending all sorts of good healing vines, etc. to you and spot. Hope he feels better in the morning. Just a bump in the road but difficult to watch. Hope he is back on track as the infection subsides.

Did the vet give him an AB shot? (I couldn't tell from your SS or condo from yesterday.) If so, it's probably why he's off his food. I hope Spot feels better tomorrow.

((((Deb))))) was just popping by to read some posts, so sorry to see Spot's numbers today!!!!! Hope he is doing better. I haven't been on since Friday, hope the vet visit went well. I will check on you tomorrow!!!!
