Yesterday
Shadow has been eating!!! :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup
This morning he had his two meds with a taste of baby food turkey...then he ate his LC breffis. He is not in any rush to eat though so my btb days are over I suppose. I sit and place the dish in front of him when he walks away. I actually opened another flavor but by the time I got back into the dining room, he was eating the original plateful of grub. sigh.
Anyway, they both ate the second opened can for +4 after I threw it in the fridge so no waste there. I laid down on my bed and watched the two of them eat their lunch at +4...and listened too....cute sounds of their munching.
So I will give him his two meds twice a day since it seems to be working as far as the nausea being gone and the appy being okay. As long as he eats like this and doesn't throw up, I am a happy Mama!
Thank you Dyana for all your help. And thank you to everyone for visiting and sharing your kind thoughts with us. I will see if I can find any NV raw Ann...thanks for the PM about that. Ann suggested the chicken chubs which is about $8 for 2lbs. Will see if I can get some and try it out. I also read about using unsalted butter as added calories. He loves butter. Might try getting some unsalted ones.....
Hope you all have a great day! Sending hugs out to you all!!

He acted sheepish as I tested him. He then used the LB and deposited a large bowel movement. He then went into the living room and vomited up his +4 presumably and a hairball as I was giving Raja her ABs.....
I offered him some baby food turkey but he turned away and then I offered some water. He didn't take any at first but then went and had a drink...he is now using the LB again.
I will try to get him to eat a little something in a few minutes....(maybe I should give him some Carafate to coat his stomach....)
I picked up some clindamyacin for Raja....she is on that every few months for a week for her gingivitis.....
She HATES it and I don't blame her. I actually put the darn syringe into my mouth while trying to grab her and now the taste is in MY mouth! YUCK!!! I wanted to give it to her right after she ate....
My name is MUD around here now....
Poor Shadow...
Poor Raja....

(Poor me....) :YMSIGH:

Re: 6/27 Pat's Shadow AMPS=302, hairball vomit

I gave him some Carafate to coat his stomach. We were having a nice brushing and then he vomited all the Carafate up. So, I am hoping that his stomach will settle down soon.....
I did get a lot of hair picked up with the furminator....can't imagine all this hair that he is shedding.
Anyway, just thought I would update....unfortunately, it wasn't very good news.... sigh...

Awww Pat, I have nothing to add, but sympathy for little Shadow and you, and healing vines for his tummy.

I have been giving Pepcid twice at day at noon and midnight...thanks Sienne. He had just had it 4 hours earlier...
I took a chance and gave him his two meds at 8 pm and then he was wandering around in about a half hour. I looked and there he was....lying on the testing towel! Awwww....what a good boy!!!

We got a 215 for the test and then he ate FF chopped grill with some real turkey pieces on top. We had made a turkey and he seemed to enjoy it. DH put aside some for Shadow for the next day or so....awwwww...anyway, he didn't seem to like the chicken I made the other day, but he ate the turkey tonight.....good job!
Wandered around and licked some mayo. Guess he could smell it?? Did you all know that mayo can be smelled by cats? They are amazing!! He loves mayo...and butter....
So far so good.
(he is now eating what Raja left in her bowl She is angry with me and deliberately didn't eat because of the clindamyacin attack earlier. She is really angry at me. To not eat???? Oh yeah...it is WAR.)

Hi Pat,
I have heard that clyndamicin tastes awful and also that it is a very powerful antibiotic, so make sure that Raja gets her Fortiflora or some other pro-biotic to ensure that her "good" intestinal bacteria stay active.

Poor Shad-0! I hope his stomach feels better soon. Sending healing vines and the KTSS will be along with some chicken soup.

Have as good an evening as possible!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Have you tried them on Weruva Paw Lickin' Chicken? Rusty really likes this food.

I'm glad that Shadow is eating.

J.D. had to be on Clindamycin for two weeks, after his last dental. We almost gave it up after a couple of days because of tummy issues, but I knew it was important that he get it the strong antibiotics given to him so we started Ultimate Flora probiotics and managed our way through.

Wishing the best for Shadow and Raja.
