Her numbers are going up instead of down.

I am so upset about Eleanor. This is just ridiculous and I don't know what to do.

I cleaned Eleanor's ears right after her shot, I clean them a couple times a week to try to keep her recurring ear infections at bay. Gave her SEB at +2.5. She had a normal poop.

I'm going to have to start a new brand of syringe, I dread it, I can't figure out where the quarter units would be.

I had a bad migraine yesterday, and am still fighting it. Focusing my eyes makes it worse.

Im sorry things are not going well! Migraines are so painful :(
It is frustrating when the numbers are going up and not in the right direction of down. I try and remind myself they are only numbers and they change. When we least expect it they go down.
How is Eleanor feeling?

:bighug::bighug::bighug:....normal poop is good, so focus on that! You are doing everything you can...you are increasing as aggressively as you safely can. Sometimes it does take a while to hit the breakthrough for whatever reason, but by treating the way you are, you will eventually get there :bighug::bighug::bighug:.

(((Julie)))

I agree that you are doing all you can. Amy is right that you are doing the best thing by taking the dose up every six cycles. I know it's hard to not get discouraged but you will hit a breakthrough dose just as you did before.

I hope you feel better soon. BTW, I heard the CarePoint Vet syringes are a lot like the Terumos and the price is great.

Sending vines for you.

Hi Julie, I hope you feel better soon as those migraines make it hard to focus visually and mentally.
Forgive me if I ask you this before but are you checking for ketones? Her SS reminds me of Bubba's last year when he was stuck in yellows and had ketones. Just throwing that out there. I would have never thought to check in the yellow range but then Carl & Polly & Bob (GA) kept nagging me ( not really nagging, just persistent) to check for them and sure enough.......

Eleanor feels fine, all P's in place!

I do check, I missed her pee this afternoon though. She is always negative for ketones.

It is the Carepoint I'll be switching to. I find the rounded plunger difficult, maybe I have big hands but the short syringe and the big piece that hangs down from the syringe where you grip the plunger are very difficult for me!
I guess I'll learn to deal with them.

Deb, Jayla, Amy, Marje, Carla and Bobbie, thank you for the encouragement.
This is one of those teary "I can't deal with this any more" days for me. But as we all know, that passes and we never give up.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do about switching to another insulin. I really don't mentally feel able to learn something new, but maybe a different insulin would get Eleanor straightened out. There is no way to know.

IMHO, you haven't hit the dose yet. It took Bubba to get to 5.25 until he started coming down. Hang in there Julie. You are doing an wonderful job taking care of Eleanor. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
