Nothing too unusual to report here. From what I can tell, all recent gelcaps have gone all the way down...no sign of stray mystery pills aside from the one piece of Pepcid I found the other night! I swept the floors yesterday and studied just about every little speck of white thingies I found...lots of kitty litter crumbs and teeny popcorn crumbs (DH and I are on a popcorn kick these days)...no pills, though. I'm sure I'll never know for sure how one piece of Pepcid got out like that, but Trix seems no worse for wear from whenever it may have happened. It's just another one of those things to make the bean all paranoid, though!
Her appy is OK today, but definitely not quite as good as I like to see, so we'll be doing a second syringe before I leave for work. I guess this is just part of the ups and downs we'll probably always have now. Right now she is snuggling with me...making sure I start running late!
Many of you saw this on FB last night...Trix and Zen snuggling. She always loves snuggling with him, but it was one of those things that "went missing" for quite a while from the p-titis. She just started feeling comfortable with this particular bed again a few days ago, even though she ALWAYS used to snooze in it. P-titis definitely had some weird effects on her.
Petey is doing OK...still seems a little off to me....but maybe that's him being him. He also has some ups and downs at times. This morning, he was waiting in his usual spot for breffis, which he actually had not been doing for the last week. I thought for sure we'd just be back in the swing of things, but he still just ate a little before he headed back upstairs. But, his energy and demeanor are completely normal, and he no longer sniffs and sniffs and sniffs is food before walking away so he doesn't seem nauseated. Maybe he's now in summertime appy mode, and I'm just being an overanalytical bean.
However, he and Trix are now obviously conspiring. Both last night and this morning, the one place I could get him to eat a decent amount is the upstairs bathroom, which is "his" room. For whatever reason, he LOVES the bathrooms, and particularly that one. Last night, he kept coming downstairs, I'd put a food bowl down, and he'd leave the room and head for the stairs. After doing that several times, I finally followed him up, food bowl in hand. As usual, he scurried as fast as his furry little legs would carry him to the bathroom, which is where I spend a lot of time fussing over him...he loves that. I put the food bowl down, and he started eating. UGH! Same thing this morning, UGH again!
Now I've got TWO kitties who are requiring specialized food service! I really hope this is VERY short-lived with Petey. I really didn't want to start something like this with him, but I couldn't stand waiting for him to eat downstairs last night...and I couldn't believe it when he started eating in the bathroom. Did I say "UGH" yet? These guys are trying their best to make me crazy, and it's really not that much of a challenge to do!
I did find a hairball yesterday, which I am 99% sure is Pete's. So hopefully with that out of his belly, maybe he'll get back to what I consider being "normal".
There is a new hairball product called Capilex that is supposed to be really good. It breaks down the hairball, rather than just lubricating. But, you can only get it from your vet. I may see if they have a sample I can try before committing to it...apparently it's a bit pricey. It's in treat form, and my kitties are weird about treats....they always seem suspicious and don't always chow them down when I offer treats. I'd hate to invest a small fortune in something he's going to reject.
Only two more days till staycation, although I do have to work on Sunday (my two partners are going to a bridal shower). Sundays, though, are usually easy at the store, and I plan on spending my time there just playing around with beads and making jewelry...being a body there in case customers come in, but not really "working" in the true sense of the word. Staycation can't get here soon enough...I am very, very worn out and I really need the time to regroup my brain.
Time to get moving....have a great day, LL!
