Happy Caturday Everybody!

Well poor Tori feels pretty punky this morning. Understandable seeing she just had her first chemotherapy treatment yesterday. She took her pillpocket filled with Pepcid and Metacopramide but then just hightailed when she saw her food bowl with her chicken topped with Bonito flakes. Hopefully once the meds kick in she'll want to eat for me. Right now she's lying under one of the tables in the living room. Not the coffee table though. WHen she goes there it means i'm really feeling sick. Someone threw up a bit during the night but I don't know who. Had a furball in it so it might not have been her.

I don't know if she'll feel like going to the parties tonight. If she wants to I'll let her go. Seeing all the other kitties would do her good as long as she takes it easy and grabs a nice lawn chair somewhere.

Have a good day everybody.

Barb --

Just a thought.... I've had Gabby on a combo of Pepsid, metronidazole, metoclopramide for her GI issues. I've found if I give her the pills about an hour prior to meal time, her appetite is better.

All crossed that the meds kick in and Tori feels better. All kinds of good thing beaming your way.

Re: 6/26 Tori AMPS 347-1st day Post chemo

I think the party kitties plan on stopping in to visit her.
They'll comfort her and ask if they can stroll her over, for a bit of the festivities.
They will bring her some of those lovely snacks and bring her back so she can rest.
They know the party wouldn't be the same without her.

Yes, Tori! Feel better soon so we can see you at the party. I'm going to bring you a beautiful bouquet of healing vines. See you later.

Stu

She sure isn't feeling good. She's eaten just a little for me about !/4 of her normal. No vomiting. her BS is going up though instead of down. I think I'm going to call the vets office and see what they think. I'm wondering if I should give her some Mirt and maybe some Squids as well.

This makes me nervous.

Awww I'm so sorry that Tori isnt feeling well!! I hope she will get better & better from this--
Sending Healing Light & green healing vines to our dear Tori! Hugs Barb!

I am feeling very emotional today (stress brings that out in me...) and I've been thinking of you and Tori. My IM vet told me that cats tolerate chemo a LOT better than us weakling human beings. And they usually don't need as many treatments.

I hope this is true for Tori.

Feel better Tori! Eat a little somethin' somethin'!!!

I hope Tori feels a little better soon. She needs to eat to keep her strength up. I know this is so hard, Barb. We are thinking about you and hope for the best for sweet Tori. Maybe the vet will suggest or give you something to help her eat, that would be a good thing. (((Barb and Tori)))

...p.s. I like what Cyn said about us weakling humans. Hee, hee..

I hope Tori is feeling better and that her her appetite improves soon. Tess talked w/ the rest of the kitchen crew and they are fixing a basket of special get well goodies for Tori tonight!

I called the clinic to ask if I should give Tori some Mirt and as I expected they said yes. We also agreed that I could give her some fluids over the weekend as well if she doesn't perk up. She ate a little bit more off my finger. Tori is a kitty who does not react well to syringe feeding. Funny but she'll let me put her finger in her mouth. Go figure. Anyway hopefully this will work.

This is unusual for me I usually don't get panicky but for a few minutes there I was really panicky. I guess it's because I love her so much.

(eta)

Barb, did they send her home with any anti-emetics? If she's nauseous, mirtazapine may not be enough; she may need something like zofran or cerenia.

eta: oops nm i missed that you got reglan.

I wonder if you have those times of panic when you think YOU should be doing something for her....
So, you panicked and then called the vet. Just a a great Mama should do! Once you help her with whatever it is you will administer, you will feel better that you have done something. Glad you called...glad you did what you did. Poor baby...she is probably not feeling too hungry so it's good that she took the food from your finger. She is such a sweetie...and a real trooper.

Raja says that she has a special seat for Tori on the dais...and a bed in a quiet room if she wants to take a break and get some rest. BUT, if Tori doesn't feel up to coming to the parties, Raja said that she understands. That ALL the kitties understand. She said "Tori is the boss...whatever she wants is what she will get!" There will be other parties....so if Tori feels better staying home and resting, then the party basket will be there for her whenever she wants it! Tess has it all arranged.

HUGS to you both....hope that Tori will feel better and better with each passing hour. (My DSIL said that her mouth tastes all metallic after chemo....that affects what you feel like eating. She feels better and better and usually feels the absolute best the day before she has to go for another treatment..... )
You are doing a great job for Tori... I am saying a prayer for you both...and sending lots of HUGS!

((((Barb and Tori))))

of course you're worried, Tori is your baby and she doesn't feel well. I hope it passes quickly for her.

Just wanted to let you know we were thinking of you both! It sounds like she may need something stronger for the nausea. We gave Logan some anzemet when we first started him on the Leukeran (chemo drug). He was also on metoclopramide and mirtazapine. Best of luck with the treatment. Tuesdays are "chemo days" at our internist's office and it's amazing at how many animals come in that day for their treatment. It's like a revolving door. They all seem to tolerate it better than people, though.

Tori has perked up some since I gave her the Mirt. She's even gone to the food bowl a couple of times and eaten on her own. I have just given her her pm doses of Pepcid and Metocopramide and will test and feed in an hour or so. Doug called back after the office closed for the day. We decided to do squids twice a day over the weekend to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated and he gave me his cell phone number in case I need him. Their office is closed on Sundays. How neat is that? I told him I'd try my darnest not to call and he said "Well better safe than sorry. If you need me call me." Have I ever said I love our vet?

Tori says she wants to try and go to the parties tonight. She promised she'll take it easy. I said she could but she has to be home early. She had a nice naop on the bed with me as well so she feels better.

See you later. Will check in after I test her.

What a nice update to read. I hope Tori continues to improve (as much as possible). She's in good hands. :YMHUG:

your update perked me up! :-D
i love your vet, too! he sounds wonderful. he's so supportive of you and tori.
will be thinking of you both...

What a great thing to have such a great vet! Glad Tori perked up a bit. How are YOU ?
Sounds as if you have a list of things to give her to help...that is so good!
Sending hugs to you. What a great job you are doing :YMHUG:

Awesome update! I know you must be feeling better too. We always do when our furbabies improve. :thumbup cat_pet_icon :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I'm glad to hear the good report on Tori. The Mirt really helps their appetite. That is wonderful to have such a caring Vet. I hope she can make it to the party.

Hey Barb!
I wanted to pop in and offer hugs, healing vines and love and support to you and Tori.

Purrcie says" Hey Tori! You probably shouldn't drive yourself to the parties tonight so I'll swing by with my Catillac and pick you up. It has nice roomy leather seats so you can lie down and rest on the way and you won't even get your dress wrinkled."

SO happy to hear she is feeling a bit better and eating, YAY!
