hmmmm, found a 1/2 can of high carb food in the fridge this morning. now the question is, who gave it to which cat? no doubt punkin got some at least, because he always finishes up anya's plate. it might have been the one night (wednesday) my son got the vet tech to come, but the numbers don't really show it. if he didn't leave food out for her to give punkin she might've given from the cupboard that had the 4 cans of high carb instead of the regular stash. the high carb is near the insulin supplies and the regular stash is farther away. if that's what happened, it probably means that punkin got an entire can of high carb and anya got 1/2 can. oh well, whatever happened, punkin has survived, thankfully.

another beautiful day here in oregon - highs will be in the 70's. the sun is shining, birds are singing - house is asleep. punkin's already stretched out for his morning nap. i didn't see a bath and as icky as his hair has been, he might not have washed. he seems a little "off" since we got home, but it could be my imagination.

Hmmmm...a high carb mystery!

I wonder if Punkin did inadvertantly get a good portion of high carb, and maybe that's why his fur isn't up to snuff and he doesn't quite seem like himself...I hope things return to "normal" ASAP!

Have wonderful Sunday!

Re: 6/26 punkin amps 273

Hope punkin starts feeling better soon! High carb flavors look SO close to low carb flavors in packaging...it's easy to get confused! But I do the same thing, keep the HC next to the lancets and strips and syringes but keep the normal day-to-day LC somewhere else. Hope you have a good Sunday!

Re: 6/26 punkin amps 273

Morning, guys! Fingers and paws crossed that Punkin clears this bounce soon and starts to show some better fur condition. A high carb mystery indeed! Sounds like the vacation was good for you, even if you did get the stink eye on your return. Miss Belle would always do that... Willie would be mad at me for all of 5 minutes before his need for lovins would get the better of him. She'd usually hold out a good 6-12 hrs before slinking into my arms, purring so hard she was vibrating all over, with a nuzzle of "i forgive you. just don't ever do that again."

Hope you guys have a great day!

Re: 6/26 punkin amps 273

my beloved TC was the queen of holding a grudge. when my husband came into the picture she would very carefully walk around him until he had wooed her over. but when i brought home my first baby, TC wouldn't be in the room with me for 2 entire weeks. if i came into the room she left. at that point i'd had her 7 years. i'm not sure she ever fully forgave me for enlarging our nice little family of 2 - her and me!

punkin just got done pseudo sharpening his claws on the carpet - that's always a good sign. he does it for all of 3 seconds, and i trim his claws so it's not like it actually DOES anything, but he gets a frisky look when he tries! :-D

Re: 6/26 punkin amps 273

Champ does the carpet claw sharpening, too!! Thank goodness I also clip his claws so it doesn't do any damage. I wonder if you ask your son if he would have a clue about the food!

Have a great Sunday! :-D

Re: 6/26 punkin amps 273

Hmmm...a mystery indeed? I suspect it's not Punkin or Anya b/c cats don't have thumbs!

Ok that was bad.

That happened to us when DS came home for the summer. He accidently gave Tarragon high carb. Punkin will clear it soon. Hope you gave a great afternoon Julie!

What a lovely description of the beginning of the day there. Now to solve the puzzle...who ate the HC?????

Glad all is well. Have a great Sunday, Julie!

Punkin looks good! I'm sure the HC thing will forever be a mystery, but if he had some it doesn't look like it hurt him.

Detective HC heading your way
