Thank you all :)
I tried to post some pics but it said they were too big. I don't know how to decrease the size. As most if you know I am no computer whiz. Lol
I did add his pic to the Facebook site. He's the handsome orange dancing_cat

If you open up your picture on your computer, often the software you use will allow you to Save As and you can choose a smaller size that this site will allow. Looking forward to seeing what Peyton looks like.

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116 OTJ Trial Day 3

You can also post them to Google and then post the link to the pictures here! Then you don't have to resize so much!

Camille wants you to send her pictures in an email (or anyway you can send them) Look for a Private Message from her on that.

To get pictures here, you have to have them resized to no more than 600 pixels x 400 pixels. If you already have the pictures saved to your computer, you can resize them from there (if you have one of the picture sizing programs) or you can use this site to resize them http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

Congratulations on day 3!!

Thanks Chris! I'll see if I can figure it out when I get home :)

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48??? OTJ Trial Day 3

I'm used to 48 being a level that I need to "lather, rinse, repeat." What do you do when they are OTJ?

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48??? OTJ Trial Day 3

Enjoy! If not on insulin he can't go hypo. He is just being a regular cat!!

Or you could offer him some chocolate milk? Since I've seen cats go OTJ this has come up many times. Have a great day!!

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48??? OTJ Trial Day 3

I feel like I need to sit here and retest/feed. Guess I'll go back to work then and leave him alone. Peyton has his paws crossed that Max's reduction will be a success

He thinks the chocolate milk idea is a fabulous idea

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

Hooray! Go Peyton! I'm so happy!

Yesterday at the vet's office with Kitty, I told the vet that Kitty's BG was 63 the night before the dental, and she thought that was too low. I just told her that's where Kitty likes to hang out..in the 60s. Ha! She eats every three hours, and she acts fine, so I'm not worried.

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

When Kitty has flea allergy dermatitis does her hair fall out? My FIV+\stomatitis kitty is losing patches of hair. Going to try to get her an appointment for Friday

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

Yes, it sure can fall out!

Does she have fleas? When you rub her hair the wrong direction, does it look like there are little specks of dirt? If you put her on a white piece of paper, an old towel or even paper towels and brush her, add a few drops of water to what falls on the ground and if it turns red that's flea dirt.

Usually if it's flea dermatitis, they're going to want to treat to get rid of the fleas, and give steroids to get over the inflammation that's causing the hair loss/itching

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

Kitty's hair doesn't fall out, she just gets scabs all over her little body. My old vet gave her a shot of Pred, and that did make the dermatitis go away, but it also gave her diabetes. Since she was diagnosed with Stomatitis, she's back on Prednisolone again, but it's a low dose and for a short amount of time. I'm keeping an eye on her BG, that's for sure.

Now Tuff has been pulling his hair out. The fleas are pretty bad around here right now, and he can't stand them. He's almost bald along his backbone. When I can get my checking account back in good condition, I'll pick up some Revolution for my crew. My new vet highly recommended it for all of my cats, diabetic and kidney cats included! For the time being, I'm using a flea comb and diatomaceous earth.

Let us know what the vet says!

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

Steroids scare me but If that's what she needs then that's what we will do. Since she is FIV+ she is an outside kitty. I built her an enclosure and will eventually enclose the entire back yard. I had to build the enclosure quickly so I could go ahead take her in.

Re: 6/26 Peyton AMBG 116,+6 48 OTJ Trial Day 3

Yeah, steroids are pretty scary, but sometimes they are just necessary. I put off using them when Kitty was first diagnosed with Stomatitis, but when the vet said that it had gotten much worse and she could tell that I didn't use it, I felt really bad. We're on day two, and her BG is fine. Just keep an eye on your kitty's BG (even though she's not diabetic), and it wouldn't hurt to give her sub-Qs to support her kidneys (like Stefanie mentioned on Facebook yesterday).
