Hello to all our known and unknown friends :cat: :bighug:
Welcome back @Sue and Luci, I missed reading about Luci- her antics, the cute pics!

Nelli is not feeling good today :(. I suspect constipation but not for sure. She is really not feeling well- she got her Antinol and Bupe injections late yesterday... This always, always equals feeling great, not just good, the next day.

Thanks Carla @carfurby for your thoughts and prayers for Nelli each day, you too Jamie @Bellasmom! They are noticed and appreciated :cat:, :bighug:

Wondering where you been. Ahh the constipation issue, never-ending battle here. But for the most part I think we've got it down or should I say moving.... Anywho lactulose in morning and miralax or psyllium husk in evening is working decently now. Every couple days she skips a day if skips 2 days then it's lactulose again at night. Gab, bupre, and levemir are constipating. Don't know if the benazepril or cabergoline is, probably as most meds always have it as a side effect. Add no motility and we'll there's the problem.

Could cisipride be an option? It's for motility so it might help.

Maybe she's constipated; that would explain why she's not feeling great! Can you give her something for it?
Hope you have a beautiful day Krystina!:)
Yes she is definitely constipated :(.
Yes, I have been giving her Miralax... lots :nailbiting:
This has happened before, actually last time it happened you are not going to believe this but in the morning I woke up to 13 inches of poop, yes! 13 inches on the floor where it was obvious she was trying to make it to the litter box in time and didn’t- the first section of the poop was this hard ball which apparently was the blockage then came the 12”. Miralax inches, that is

Bupe can cause constipation. Are you giving Miralax and pumpkin?
I gotta say, I’ve kept a Close watch on her Bupe and constipation. She gets Bupe injections every 2 to 3 days and I can go without giving her MiraLAX or pumpkin for days and her poops have always been regular? I’ve never considered Bupe to have a constipating affect on her?
I need to get some more pumpkin in the house and although I’d rather not give her MiraLAX every day if she doesn’t need it… I probably should be giving her at least an eighth of a teaspoon every day.

miralax can take 3 days to be effective. Your best bet is to find something you can give daily to prevent constipation.

Cisipride is something you need to give daily, it's not designed for occasional use. Also should be given 15-30 minutes before eating.
Well, yes I knew this in back of my head. It was prescribed and explained to me as you’ve said- the Vet and I agreed to put her on it for a few days then take her off and on to the pumpkin and beet pulp fiber. Which is what I did and that’s been weeks ago. I have not been giving her pumpkin but I have been giving her the finest (Nelli gets no less :)), beet pulp fiber :bighug: :cat:
Will bring pumpkin back into diet tomorrow :)

Vet rx that Motility drug (starts with an M). Is Lactulose a Motility drug as well?
I need to pic up more Bupe tomorrow at vet for her- will ask about this (in a Colombo scratch my temple kindo way- he he)...
