As far as today, I'm afraid we're heading for a big drop. It's only +4 and he's only at 121. He usually peaks between +7 - +9. Do I just continue to feed LC until he gets below 50? Also what percentages are considered MC and HC? My plan was to pick some up this weekend, but it looks like I may have to go ASAP.

He looks pretty flat thus far. Bounce breaking cycles have more downward momentum and later nadirs. I think you can stick to LC.

LC < 10% carbs
MC is 10-15% carbs
HC >15% carbs

Continue to feed lc and test hourly. Lc is under 10%, mc is 10-15% and over that is hc. If you see another drop into green on the next test you could feed a slightly higher lc.

Cats bounce from dropping into lower bg than used to or if the bg takes a big drop at once. It’s totally normal. Some cats are more bouncy than others. It usually subsides as they spend longer times in normal numbers.

Wow! So he does that late cycle dip even in non-bounce breaking cycles! Some more LC and test in half an hour. Still in safe healing numbers.

What's your LC%? Do you have any higher carb food?

He's a goofy cat. He seems to go a little lower almost every time he eats. I know you're supposed to (and I normally do) don't feed 2 hrs before amps & pmps but the few times I have he always comes down a little. I still shoot the same amount, but I always wondered if that's typical.

He eats FF classic beef or chicken. Both are 3% carbs. The weruva slide n serves I have are (as fed) around supposedly 1% which I question. Worst case, I have honey and/or maple syrup in the pantry.

It means his pancreas are producing some insulin in response to food, which is good.

Sometimes you need slightly higher carbs to prevent a dip below 50. Whenever you can, please stock up on some MC (10-15% carbs) and some HC (>15% carbs). Very useful when you want to "feed the curve" (manipulate the numbers with food).

+7 55

So he didn't drop under 50 possibly because I fed him thru it again? What if it were another day like he had a couple weeks ago and hit 41 because I couldn't be home to "feed him thru it?" What qualifies him for a decrease? Maybe I should NOT feed him thru it to see if he dips under 50?

You want to keep them at a dose at which they see good numbers. We try to avoid a reduction that can be prevented by feeding the curve. When you have to prop them up with higher carbs, then you know they want that reduction.
