WCR: Most Ps in place. Love my little snuggly girl. Snuggles at bedtime; snuggles at wake time; snuggles on the couch. Currently, she's passed out on her (my) heating blanket. Appy is pretty good and pees and poops are ok, as well.

OT: My sister's new kittens still have the runs and it's day #3 on Albon. Both kittens are still eating and drinking, peeing & pooping (albeit, runny), playing, purring & preening. I just want them to feel better.

Deborah, maybe some Forti Flora would help, too. Albon is an AB - are they getting anything to actually treat the diarrhea? Vines and prayers for the little darlings.

Love the snuggly kitty! Shasta is obviously much happier at home. Now we just need some nice numbers - keep sliding, Shasta!

I just ordered some FortiFlora for my sister. It should arrive by Saturday, but I told her to ask the vet tomorrow if he thinks it would help or hinder at this point. She is taking them into the vet first thing in the morning because she thinks there was a little pink tinge to Gracie's diarrhea tonight and now she's really freaked out. As of Tuesday, each kitten received one dose of Marquis Equine Paste to treat the coccidia and they are receiving seven days of the Albon. The vet wanted to hear from my sister not later than tomorrow (Friday) regarding their status...she plans on being at their clinic when they open...with kitties "in tow"! I'm so worried about them and really hating that they have not improved yet. My sister did say that they were still eating, drinking, playing, preening and purring, but a bit more lethargic than the first day.

I read on one of the sites that: It should be mentioned that stress plays a role in the development of coccidiosis. It is not uncommon for a seemingly healthy kitten to arrive at his new home and develop diarrhea several days later leading to a diagnosis of coccidia. If the kitten has been at the new home for less than thirteen days, then he had coccidia before he arrived. Remember, the incubation period (from exposure to illness) is about thirteen days. If the kitten has been with his new owner several weeks, then the exposure to coccidia most likely occurred after the animal arrived at the new home.

If this is true and coccidia is the root of this illness, they were exposed to it at their foster home. On Tuesday, my sister contacted the foster mom to let her know what was going on so that she could be on the look out for other sick kitties. I hope they are all healthy and I hope Gracie and Teddy are better by tomorrow. :nailbiting:

Thanks for all of the vines, friends. Those babies need them!!!
