Hi everyone,
I thought this would be a good day to check in say hi and let you know how the Putster is doing. The birthday boy is 9 years old today. party_cat
In August it will be 4 years since his dx. He continues to act like a kitten. He is still very playful, silly, feisty, and very loving although he likes to show he has control when I test or give him insulin. He has been known to take a swipe at me (and only me, not DH) when I test him. I think he learned that from his old friend Tuffy.
Putty will be going for his annual checkup next month. I have been very happy to say that his upcoming visit to the vet will only be his 3rd visit in 3 years. I am very thankful that he has been very healthy. He does need a dental which I will schedule after our annual vacation to Cape Cod in July.
Putty loves going there because he gets to listen to the ocean all day and watch all the people walking to and from the beach.
Putty's numbers have been very erratic as usual. He has been a tough one to regulate. Some days he seems too high and just when I think I should increase his dose he dips low....sending him into a 3-day bounce. He does know when he is low and will come find me and make the softest and sweetest little mew then go sit by the refrigerator waiting to be fed. He has never been a very verbal kitty. When he is very high he is more lethargic.
I can tell his numbers by the way he is acting. I know when he is below 150 because he will go under the dining room chair, crouch down low with his head sticking out just a little....this means play with me.
As usual life has been very busy. A part-time job, volunteering, spending time with my Mom, my daughter being home, husband, etc, etc,....no different than anyone else here.
I think about all of you and do peek in once in a while. I usually promise to spend more time in LL visiting but I have not been very good at keeping my promise so I will just say....I miss you all. To the oldies....I hope to visit with you soon. To the newbies....I hope to meet you soon.
Oh...don't look at Putty's SS....well, you can but it needs some updating. I do promise to get to that!
Take care...miss you.
