Is there any way you can transition Heart off of the dry food? Here's the first several ingredients:
Poultry by-product meal, soy protein isolate, corn gluten meal, soy flour, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), corn starch, animal liver flavor,
The carb content (13%) puts it out of the LC range (LC is less than 10%). In addition, there is no muscle meat in the food (i.e., it's all animal by-products) AND it contains products that are not particularly good for diabetics such as corn starch and soy flour and there's gluten which many cats are allergic to. To be honest, with soy protein as the second ingredient, I've got to wonder if anyone has a cat that eats soy products. Cats are carnivores and soy is OK (I guess) if your cat's a vegetarian. The dry food is is very likely inflating up Heart's numbers. The majority of the prescription cat foods, whether canned or dry, are a very poor grade of food. Even the less expensive canned foods are far better quality.
Some of the numbers today are most likely new dose wonkiness (NDW), like Pat described. It's why we let doses settle for several days. You just need to be patient and see what the numbers look like i n another couple of cycles.
