Last condo 6/22

Seems that Zener's condo from yesterday is missing, so I've linked to Sunday's. Zener is doing fine today. His appy is good and he is now lying flat on his side in the rocks in the yard, taking a nap. He looks like he's comfortable. Tillie just went out to join him. He got an Adequan shot yesterday and seemed to be moving better after that so we are going to give him a shot every two weeks from now on. We are trying several things (acupuncture, gabapentin, Adequan, anal glad expression) to see if he can be more comfortable and it's hard to tell what is effective or not. I think we are going to stop the acupuncture, as it doesn't seem to help especially.

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans. Paws crossed for OTJ trials: Pixie, Boomer and now Peyton. Any others? Happy Tuesday, LL!

First blue in a looooong time! :-D Appy wasn't good but he's going for the BFF chicken chuckles now, 2% carb vs his normal 12%. Jeesh, beans will be testing.

I see blue! dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

Sorry the acupuncture doesn't seem to be working. We had our first one today so still waiting to see how that goes. My vetty did suggest another alternative for arthritis called Hyperflex. Something you might want to ask your vet about. Apparently it's like Adequan but given orally like bupe and can be used in addition to Adequan. I hear you on being hard to know what works. I want to try it all now but realize I have to space it out and see what makes a difference.

It is so hard to know what works and what doesn't. I know for Mario, Adequan really, really helped. He didn't have any other treatments, so the evidence was conclusive. If stopping the acupuncture causes a set back, you can always restart it. I always like making only one change at once, so it is easier to tell how things are going.

Nice blue tonight. I hope his appy picks up again and you guys have a wonderful evening!

Nice surf Z-man! I'll have to look into BFF fuds. I hadn't tried them because they all have fish, but for a change-up they might be good.

I hope the 2 week schedule works for Z. I know on wanting to try everything too. I feel like I'm grasping at any straw in sight for Emma's stomatitis.

Much better numbers for the Z-man today! Sounds like we're facing some similar challenges with our boys and the achy joints. We are using 30mg capsules for the Gabapentin (Buster is 14.5 lbs). I lather on a little layer of butter to make it slippy and use a pill popper, followed by a light snack. So far, so good. Your experience with the compound version is making me think twice about trying that. I have also gone to giving the Adequan once a week. It was working great, but now it doesn't seem to be  Still might try the acupuncture if I can find someone down here. I'm glad we don't get the cold, cold winters down here. Hope you find a good solution for Zener.
