Good Sunday morning, everyone,

It's a beautiful morning here and I want to get out on my bike before the predicted thunderstorms arrive. Rusty had a good night (it was chilly--in the 40s--so he was right down in the blankets when we got up!). This is the first day of a new cartridge of Lev., a new dose (1.5 units), and new syringes (I used one of the accurate MJ 30-gauge syringes that I have been saving). Rusty wasn't too interested in his Wellness Turkey breakfast (from the 5.5 oz can), so I gave him some from the 3-oz can and he ate most of that, but not all. I think he's holding out for FF T&G, of which he had quite a bit for his bedtime food last night. We went outdoors and were greeted by the Shadow. Rusty and Shadow had their usual standoff (a few hisses and swats from Rusty, while the Shadow nimbly hopped away). Edward went back to bed and Rusty just joined him. Edward's hand looks much better. We'll go back to the Urgent-Care facility this afternoon, as requested, to see what the doctor says.

Wishing you all a great day. I'm off now for 20 hilly miles.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 6/24 Rusty AMPS 164

Hope you enjoyed your bike ride.

Good luck with the new dose and new pen and new syringes.

Sending good doctor visit vines to Edward.

Re: 6/24 Rusty AMPS 164

Come on Rusty, go for that new dose. It really looks like you wanted it!

Enjoy your ride, John is just heading out too. And stopping at the Farmer's Market! :-D :-D I'm glad Edward's hand is better. Those bite can be nasty, especially when you don't know what bit him. I'm always really careful here, we have tons of Black Widows.

Hi again,
Rusty had some good outdoor time earlier. He spent the afternoon napping. I'm beginning to think that when I switched out the syringes last night I gave Rusty his shot with the one that was virtually empty! (The other one had what I considered to be a surprising amount of insulin in it for an almost-empty syringe. ohmygod_smile ). I guess we'll have to wait and see what the scenerio might have been.

I had a good ride this morning: about an hour and a half on my hills course (20 miles). It was beautiful: woods on both sides, lots of birdsong (hermit thrushes singing--one of my favorite sounds--also lots of oven birds). After lunch we mowed the "lawn". Then took Edward back to the Urgent Care facility (a fantastic idea: a walk-in doctors' office open 24 hours with all the most modern equipment). The doctor was very pleased with how Edward's hand is doing and says that he will only have to take the meds for 2 more days.

Off to plan dinner soon. Wendy (Neko) sent me a recipe for garlic-scape and pistaschio-nut pesto and we are going to try it tonight. The scapes are now in and are just the right size.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday,

Ella & Rusty

Rusty's numbers are looking pretty decent for just after a reducie. Neko has now decided to join him at the blue lagoon. I'm hoping Rusty will show her the way down a level.

The ride today sounds lovely. I too love hearing birds when I am out hiking/biking/rowing or whatever. A small warning with the garlic scape pesto, you had better love the taste of garlic! I had some leftovers that I used as a sandwich spread, but not a great idea if you are going to be seeing people afterwards.

Ella, those are nice numbers for a kitty that may not have had his insulin last night.

Twenty mile bike ride on hills ...oh my, Ella, I'm so impressed.
My morning walk is slightly hilly, and I just about am able to walk the one mile back. Uh, half mile each way.
I walk between trees also, part way, and always feel I want to post a pic and share the view, but it just didn't look the same in a photo, without dimension.
And the bird singing is the best part. I love to hear the Pileated Woodpeckers. Not a pretty sound, but really interesting.

I'm glad to hear, Edward's hand is healing well.

Um....'scapes' ?

WOO HOO! You rock Ella - sounds like a great bile ride! I need to get back out on mine, kinda got out of the habit. I think it's great hat you ride as much as you do.

Good news on Edward's hand. YAY!!

oh no on the syringes... well he will recover soon, if it was the virtually empty one. Good luck with the new dose. It will be a good one, right Rusty?

Thanks everyone, for visiting us. Rusty obviously got a good dose this evening!!

My Mets lost to the hated Yankees.

Ni ni,

Ella & Rusty

It's been raining all evening.
