6/24 Leonard AMPS was 286

Hmmm... When you created the link for Leonard's spreadsheet, did you copy the address at the top of the internet browser or did you copy the link that you are given while you have Leonard's Spreadsheet open in google docs after selecting: File - Publish to the web?

From what I see you have successfully created a hyperlink... it's just that the destination is incorrect so don't be discouraged... you're almost there, and the rest of your signature looks great :D

What if I have no idea ? I started this months ago ! I followed whatever the directions said... Is there a way to see what the correct url destination is ?

There is!

You find the link by going into Leonard’s spreadsheet - selecting file on the upper left hand corner, and choosing “publish to the web”

When that comes up make sure that there is a blue line under the word Link... not embed.

Select Publish.

A link should come up... that’s the link to your spreadsheet. Copy it.

Now, go to your profile signature. You’ll notice that that there is a little wrench at the top of the text window (see image below). Don’t be intimidated but this will take you to “bbcode” mode which will allow you to see the code that creates links, quotes, emojis etc...

When you select this, what you have written in your signature will look something like this:

In the image above I put a red box around the text which contains the data about where the current “Leonard’s Spreadsheet” link goes. Highlight everything after the first single quotation mark to Right before the last single quotation mark before the close square bracket.

I’ve very messily outlined what I would highlight for Mowgli’s old link as seen below.

When the text is selected right click and paste the link that you copied earlier.

Save changes.

To make sure it worked, select the “preview” button beside the “save changes” button and try clicking on the blue text that says “Leonard’s Spreadsheet” if the link is working it should bring you to the spreadsheet.

I know this sounds so elaborate but you can do it!

Ok! so you're using the google sheets app?

When you first open the google sheets app there should be a list of docs "last opened by"

Look to the far right beside the Leonards Spreadsheet doc and you will see three dots. Select the three dots and make sure the text above "Copy Link" says "Link Sharing On". If it says "Link Sharing Off" select it, it should change to "Link Sharing On"

Then right below that choose Copy Link

I think that might work

Only one day is there though..

Good news is: The link is up and working!
Bad news is: It seems like this isnt the most up to date sheet

If that isn't the appropriate Spreadsheet you should reach out to @Marje and Gracie in a private conversation, she is the expert on spreadsheets around here. I don't think she will be able to address it until the morning though.

To privately message her, go to inbox (upper right corner of page) and on the bottom right of the drop down menu choose "start a new conversation"

Type "Marje and Gracie" into the participants, and make the title "Help with spreadsheet needed"

In the body of text just let Marje know what device you're using and she will be able to help :)

Dont be discouraged! today you successfully edited a hyperlink in bbcode! You're kind of a big deal :D

Here are the instructions for a tablet... they should be the same as an iphone

Instructions for Creating a SS from a tablet:

1. Be sure you have a google account. Go to the App Store if you have an Apple device or to Google Play if you have an Android device. Download Google Chrome, Google Drive, and Google Sheets apps onto your device.

2. Sign into your Google Chrome account via the app (you might also need to sign into Google Drive and Google Sheets). In Google Chrome, access this post in FDMB and click on the spreadsheet template you want from Option 1, #2. Google Chrome should ask if you want to open in Google sheets “Always” or “Just Once”. Select “Always”.

3. Google Sheets will open and you should see the spreadsheet you selected listed or you will see a small version of the spreadsheet depending on whether your Google Sheets is set up to show “lists” or “icons”.

4. If your Sheets is set up for list, tap the three vertical dots to the right of the spreadsheet name. If your Sheets is set up for icons, tap the three vertical dots to the right of the spreadsheet name under the spreadsheet icon. Once you have tapped the three vertical dots, tap on "Share and Export". Tap on "Make a Copy". Your copy will generate and then tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner again. At the very top, it will state "Copy of FDMB US...." or "Copy of FDMB World...". Tap on this and rename the SS (type in your kitty's name followed by the word "Spreadsheet") and then tap on "rename".

5. Tap the three vertical lines again in the upper right. Tap "Share and export" again, tap on "share". You will see "Link Sharing is Off". Tap on this. You will see a green link that states "Anyone with the Link" ; tap on "can view" and make sure it has a checkmark next to it. Tap the back arrow. It should now state "Link sharing is on" and "anyone with the link can view". Right below that, tap on "copy link to clipboard".

6. Go immediately back to FDMB (so you don't lose the link) by clicking the "home" button on your iPad or similar button on Android. Sign into your FDMB account, and follow the instructions above for pasting the SS link in your FDMB Signature block. When you get to step 4, by touching the blank block where you paste your link, you should be able to paste the link that you got in step 5 above.

7. You can access your SS on your device for editing through the Google Sheets App.
