Good Afternoon LL:
Well, on June 12, 2012, Tuffy started her trial while surfing the 30s on .1u of insulin. On June 26, 2010, she had a wonderful OTJ party, Thank You D. This morning I again watched her OTJ video and cried as usual. It was awesome, some of my critters have gone GA but I have wonderful memories for them. Many thanks to Jill, Jojo and Libby for guiding us through this journey and a few long nights. Tuffy was not easy and is not still.
As for Tuffy, she is and always will be an anomaly. This morning she was 119, at +4 she was 39, she surfed the 30s for an hour. I still test her at least 2x daily. She dances to a different drummer. This morning it was additional because she was asking to be tested. I tested, 38, fed her retested and she was 39 1/2 hour latter, she seems fine. Only wish I knew her normal numbers. She will occasionally throw a high number but she brings herself down. I can't ask for anything else. She is diabetic and will always be a diabetic. She is being controled with food and every day she is doing okay that's fine. If she ever needs insulin again, that too is fine.
Tuffy will always be special. She is quite the character. She continues to open the french doors if I don't lock them. She tries to open the vanity although I have child proof locks on it. We have had power outages due to storms and she wakes me if I over sleep. Her methods sometimes leave something to be desired. If kisses and purrs don't work, she nips me. She continues to look for Trouble. She also tell the rest of the crew that she is the martiarch, no questions asked. If I try and read the paper, she plunks herself down on it. If I'm reading a book, she tries to turn the pages for me. That's Tuffy.
Things have been busy here. Saddle fitter came and custom fited Khoko's saddle. He is a big boy, and normal saddles do not fit, but he seems quite happy with his new saddle.
Regards to all doing the sugar dance. Hang in there OTJ or regulation can't find a better place to be.
Thanks again to all who helped us on our journey. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love and hugs from Barbara & Tuffy
