Yesterday

Hi Everyone,
More rain + thunderstorms today. So disheartening after the lovely day yesterday. It seems like we get one good day and then 3 or 4 rainy days. The farmers are suffering because the fields are so soggy.

Rusty had a good night and ate all of his nighttime food. This morning I took Edward to yoga in a downpour, then returned home and had a good schmooze/snooze with Rusty. Woke up groggy in this humid and close weather. Gotta go shopping this afternoon and bake cookies for our annual "ChrisMoose" party tomorrow at our friends' house. ChrisMoose Eve: June 24th. We'll have a $10. gift exchange, too. Should be lots of laughs and fun.

@Melissa & Tarragon and @Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) , sounds like you are describing my Florida weather! Although I was at my mom's in Missouri last week, rained everyday I was there, flash flood watches/warnings, then it was going to be in high 90's the day I left.

ChrisMoose Eve I love it! Should be a national celebration, IMHO. The weather here has been unbelievably sunny and warm, but we do need rain. So little snow in the mountains this year means very little spring runoff. The farmers really need some rain (as we all do, farmers feed us). And yet, a couple of years ago, Calgary had the worst flooding in recorded history!
Rusty's looking great. Has poor little Leilo gotten up the courage to come into his yard today?

Hi again,
There was a cat in the yard today, but i don't think it was Leilo. Rusty was inside and didn't see the cat. The Lagoonmeister has been on duty almost all day. He's busy bringing the Lagoon back to order. All those kitties lounging around on beachchairs is keeping them from doing their proper surfing!

Just finished making "cimmamum" Xmas cookies (aka gingersnaps).

The rain is over and we had some very windy weather from the north to dry it out here.

Gifts are anything $10 and under. Some are joke gifts, some food treats, some recycled from the Xmas party. We draw numbers and the person with no.1 selects a package. No. 2 then does the same. He can either keep his gift or take no. 1's. This goes on until all gifts are taken. Many of the most "desirable" gifts change hands frequently. It's silly, but fun. I don't know what it's called.

okay... it's exactly like our church ladies christmas party..
altho' there are an awful lot of christmas kitchen items.... ( last year there were way too many mugs with tea or coffee)
and the popular gift was a 10 gift card to starbucks and a 15 card for red lobster.
usually we have a 3 steal limit but last year it was unlimited except you couldn't steal right back from the one who just took it from you.

i was thinking lots of moose gifts would be funny.

A place I used to work for did that at the company Christmas party. I don`t remember the name of it either, but it is fun. Bottles of wine seemed to be amongst the most `desirable` gifts.

I hear you on the weather! After all that rain we got last week, it's not raining all day, every day this week, but it's still raining some each day! Our farmers aren't going to be able to get out into their fields until September the way things are going. On top of that, the heat has finally hit and when you add heat to humidity, you get miserable

The party sounds like a lot of fun! Hope you end up with something good!
