After seeing a few OTJ updates posted today, I thought I'd join in.

Ruby is now OTJ for 9 weeks. I tested her last 1 week ago and she was 115 on the Alpha. She's hit 130 a couple of times before that but for the most part, is staying closer to 100. I keep her spreadsheet up to date still (just the Alpha tab, not the Relion one). Its still really tough to not test her! I keep her on a tight 6am/6pm feeding schedule.

She's lost about 2 lbs from the 14lbs she was at her diagnosis at Christmas. And the energy! Its crazy! She's running around and playing, all full crazies. She has a touch of constipation every few of weeks, but a sprinkle of miralax (maybe 1/16th of a teaspoon) on a couple of meals takes care of it. This had never come up before the switch to wet food, so I'm thinking it's connected to the diet change?

She's still my napping companion, all warm, furry and purry. Still sleeps faceplanted into a pillow or blanket and snores like no lady should.

There has been added stress the past few weeks, with Midgie's (our civvie) problem showing up so out of no where. Ru will hiss as her for 2 days after each vet appointment but will then go back to her normal surly self. Its seems like the few higher numbers have coincided with Midgie's vet visits so maybe they're stress spikes.

So for the most part, all is good in Ru's world. She's doing great and holding pretty steady. And we have our FDMB family to thank. We couldn't done it without you! \M/

I'm glad to hear of the great Ruby report. Snoring, huh? J.D. does that, a little, sometimes :)

Hi Amy, nice to see a great report on Ruby. So good to hear how energetic and playful, too. I think I missed Midge's problem. I hope it's nothing serious. Keep in touch. We've missed you. Have a great weekend.

I'm here all the time, I just don't say much.

And unfortunately it is serious with Midgie. She's having surgery on Monday morning to remove a tumor from her lung. So far they think I caught it early and its contained to just the one small spot. We'll find out soon enough, I guess.

Amy, I'm so sorry about Midgie! Sending positive vines for a successful surgery and outcome. That's great it was caught early and contained to one spot. Please keep us posted. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: and scritches for Ruby and Midgie.

Hey, Amy - Glad to hear Ruby is doing so well. I'm so sorry about Midgie. I hope the surgery goes well and she gets a good report!

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Hi Amy,
What a good report on Ruby. But we are sorry to hear about Midgie's health issue. Sending her beautiful vines for a good surgery.

Have a good weekend and keep us posted.

It's wonderful to hear a WRR!! She sounds like she is doing fab. Sending Midgie healing vines and prayers.

I'm so glad you stopped in, Amy!!! Please don't be a stranger. Hugs to you both.

One of the varieties of wet foods (Ziwi Peak) I give Vyktor tends to make his poo a bit hard, of course it is the best quality most expensive one  I think it is because it's so dense. Are you mixing water in with Ruby's feeds? I stopped with the mixing in of the water after Vyk went OTJ but am going back to mixing water in with the Ziwi Peak.

Good luck with Midgie's surgery, let us know how it goes.

Hi guys and thanks for the update on ruby! We all love to hear these good updates so please keep them coming! My thoughts and prayers will be with you guys as you face midgies surgery tomorrow ... Please update us when you can :YMHUG:

wow another great success story! Yay Ruby! :-D Our boy Buca is almost at the 1 week mark in his trial! cat_pet_icon

Our civvie is a face planter too. It's hilarious! I hope Midgie's surgery goes well and that she makes a speedy recovery :YMHUG:

hi amy! good to hear that Ruby is doing so well - snoring and all. sending lots of love for midgie and good wishes for her surgery. i'll be thinking of you guys tomorrow. :YMHUG:

Great to hear that Ruby is doing well! We're sending hugs to you, chin scritches to Midgie, and vines to you both! (I have a Midgie, too, short for Smidgen!)

Thanks everyone! We drop her off in a couple of hours.

Here is a new picture of Ru. She took over the bed I bought for Midgie's surgical recovery spa, as soon as I brought it home. She was snoozing and the sound of the camera woke her up. That's her "Whadda ya doin'? Can't a girl get any sleep around here?" face.
