Cleo has 4 P's in place this morning. Appy was very good (hope she keeps it down, ate much faster than usual). Out on catio now, preening.

DGS is coming over for a few hours today. He is not a kitty whisperer, like Michelle's DGS :lol: So, I will test right before I go get him (it should be close to +5), and if I will need to continue testing, I can reschedule our "playdate!" I am looking forward to taking him, so I hope Cleo cooperates.

What a nice start to the day! I hope there's a great surf for Cleo today and your play date with DGS is fun fun fun.
I seem to remember that "normal" numbers are between 50 and 120. I can't come up with the sticky right now. When i find it, i'll link it for you.

DGS is taking a nap now, so all the kitties come out for a snack, and head out to the catio until the little person awakens :-D :-D Cleo jumped right up for her test and treat, and ate about 1/3 can of FF.

Having a wonderful time with him. He lights up my heart! Will get to hold DGD Alison when I bring him home too! Icing on the cake :-D

I am going to stall for 30 minutes and see where she is at. Hopefully coming up. I found a pukus on patio that I know is Cleo's, cause there is FF Appy mixed in with the food. I knew she scarfed that pretty fast :o

She is truly giving me the evil eye now, demanding with her eyes that I get off my butt and feed her :evil:

I wanted to get a +2, but I feel asleep in front of TV!!! ohmygod_smile That little DGS really tires me out. So, I fed her 1 1/2 tsp MC. Should I give HC since it is early in cycle?

And should I reduce her tomorrow? To a skinny 0.5? or to .25?

Directions/opinions welcome. Please and thank you!!

You could try a f0.25 I think.
And, I usually only use HC if my kitty is in the 30s. Cleo wasn't dropping super fast and I think the MC was fine to give.
I would test again in 30 minutes.

Eating 1 1/2 tsp LC with a "dash" of gravy on top! Back out on patio when done. Thankful, since she cannot run from me out there :-D

You are steering Cleo's numbers like a pro.

I tend to feed HC when I see numbers in the 40s. Gabby is less sensitive to carbs than J.D. You'll have to gauge Cleo's response and intervene with food in the way that best suits your kitty. I agree with Dyana -- I'd shave Cleo's dose. At this point given how small a dose Cleo is on, you want to keep her on insulin for as long as possible in order to support her pancreas as it's healing.

Cleo has been eating 1 1/2 tsp LC with a dash (dash=2 drops) of gravy on top. I will leave out her regular LC.
Tomorrow AM I will draw up 0.5 U and discard one drop. There will be two full drops, plus a little one left to give.
