Yesterday's Condo
No, you are not seeing things. It is still afternoon (on the West Coast, anyway) and this is really a condo from me!

After last night's quick dip in the lagoon, Cinco is surfing blue today, which is just fine with me. I still have tons to get done before my surgery Wednesday, and time is running out. Not having to monitor BG closely really helps. He's such a good kitty. He is still doing well, eating, talking, etc. The daily bf squash has got him going poo every other day, which is a big improvement from the past, and it doesn't look hard and dry anymore. Now if we can just keep all his deposits IN the box! I think I am going to have to get a giant lb for the bar area, now that he's hanging out mostly in the family room. I don't want to move the one from the living room, as he still goes in there occasionally for a change of pace. I am considering going to Target and Home Depot to see if I can find a large plastic storage box that's the right size. The giant one we have has two compartments on the end for storing scooper, etc., and I really don't need that. If I could get a storage box that is approximately the same size as just the litter box portion, that would fit in the bar better and still leave room for a bean to more around. If all else fails, I suppose I could get the giant one and have my DH cut off the storage part. The current box in there is almost 6 inches shorter than the giant, and I can't find one in between. The sides need to be at least 8" high, too, or he'll still hang his butt over the edge. I plan to look tomorrow when I am frantically running last minute errands. bcatrun_gif
Last night when I finally went up to bed (okay, early this morning), I spent some time cuddling with and talking to Sasha. I left the cage door open and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I heard something behind me, and turned around to see her hopping towards me!!!!! :shock: 
I almost cried. She did great! I praised her and petted her and put her up on the counter, where she likes to be when I brush my teeth, etc. She laid down and watched me, purring the whole time. I got her to drink some water from the little bowl I keep on the counter for her (I have to fill it while she watches so she knows it's fresh or she won't drink it. :roll: ). When I was done, I put her down on the floor, and she didn't seem to want to go anywhere, so I got a blanket and pillow and curled up next to her. We dozed together for a couple of hours until I woke up feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. I put her back in the cage and crawled into bed for a couple more hours. When I got up this morning, the collar was still on!! YAY! I guess i finally got it tight enough. AND there was poo in the box!!!! Quite a bit, some of which looked like it had been waiting a while to come out. :? I did the same thing when I was getting dressed - left the door open and she came to me! I thought I got it on video, but I must not have hit record. ohmygod_smile So I coaxed her to come across the room to me and uploaded it to YouTube, but I am not smart enough to figure out how to embed it, so here is the link:

I'll try to get a better video in the next couple of days. I was so encouraged by this! She is making an effort when she wants to, and knows she can do it, which is huge. While she was relaxing in the bathroom this morning, I cleaned out her cage and put down fresh pee pads, cleaned the litter box and switched out the bed, as she had peed on it. She has two favorite beds, which are both washable, thank goodness. The other was clean and ready to go, so I did the switch and the dirty one is in the washing machine now. I let her stay out while I changed the sheets on our bed, but then I had to put her back in the cage so I could get stuff done in other rooms. As the days go on, we'll be doing this more and more. I'm just so happy. We've got a long way to go, but I feel like it's going to be ok. THANK YOU all for the prayers and vines and encouragement. It's working! I know there are going to be setbacks, but I feel like we are moving forward. BIG sigh of relief!
Sorry to be so lengthy, and sorry I'm not posting much on your pages - I try to read as many as I can, but I don't have time to post right now. After my surgery, I will have lots of time!! Just know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
