Not off to a good start. He threw up the first 1/3 portion of his morning meal within 10min. Feeding again and crossing fingers.

I don't understand how he was able to hold down his food all day yesterday with a solid poo at night but throws it up right off the bat today.

Hi guys .. well the number is a nice start anyways! Sorry to hear about the barfing .. I know some kitties do that if they eat to fast .. thank goodness it takes mocha nearly two hours to finish her meals ohmygod_smile have a great weekend!

Thanks, guys. He does eat fast but I just started splitting his meals up into 1/3's yesterday so the portion sizes are real small. Probably going to try another protein.

Thanks, Marje. :-D :-D He's been doing great but what do you make of the 200s today, though? I'm pretty sure I didn't get a fur shot this morning but I can't help but think it was a possibility...

As far as the pukus, I called Primal and they suggested that before switching proteins, to try putting the food in a ziploc bag in warm water for 5-10 min b/c the pukus could be due to him eating it cold. So I'm going to give that a shot but it's going to take some work making sure the food is at the right temp when I use the automatic feeder. Do you think feeding him twice a day (with each meal divided into 1/3's) is an option? Or is it crucial he eats mid-cycle?

Being in the 200's today may be his pancreas' way of adjusting. No big swings in numbers and that's what you want, an almost flat curve.

Jinx does need to eat several small meals throughout the day. That helps with his BG levels if you can feed small meals often.

Oh I think Jinx is just a little bouncy today but you know how he can clear them!!!

I'd just be careful about feeding after his nadir as we've discussed before.

Hope you get some rest!

Yeah, he does clear them pretty fast. :-D :-D And I like the fact he hasn't plummeted by +2.5 tonight. Hopefully, he'll start doing that at the low numbers. Hope you get some rest too, Marje
