6/22 Jack 280@AMPS, not going in right direction today

Well, we had a promising start to the day after a decent night, but it all seems to be going in the wrong direction now. I'm having work done on my septic today so maybe the extra noise and heavy machinery is stressing him out. Not happy with the pink numbers we are seeing though. Depressing, as a matter of fact, and still no response from the vet clinic on those blood tests. They are getting another call tomorrow.

I had to keep on my vet to get the tests done. Begged her to humour me. She thought you needed to get to 10 units before considering acromegaly and that's what the local IM vet said too. Turns out Neko never got that high and was positive for both acro and IAA. Just so you know, the research on how common these conditions are is fairly recent, published 2015. Vets "of a certain age" have problem been taught, this is acromegaly, you'll never see it.

Thanks for sharing Neko's story. That is exactly the problem: the owner of the vet clinic is your typical 60yo vet....entrenched and brainwashed. MY vet, is only in on Friday and Saturday, and generally humors me with whatever I ask for, but I have to wait. Sometimes I get lucky, and I can catch the young vet who just graduated a few years ago during the week and get my requests expedited, but it doesn't seem like that was the case this time. I'll keep at them. He is slowly coming down, I don't like the bounces, but until I fully resolve his diet situation, I'm a bit up the creek with the bouncing I think. Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate it!!! So does jack!
