Hello everyone!! Hugs to all the cats.

Yesterday's condo: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=120628

We're off to a good start today with a nice, healthy +3 number - no crazy drop! Maybe the suggestion of 1oz meals at PS, +1, +2 and +3 is working. Thanks Julie! She ate at PS and +1. She wasn't interested in much food at +2, but I think her crazy drops tend to happen between +1 and +2, so maybe that +1 meal is the key. I'll keep experimenting and we'll see what happens.

I hope you all have a great day!

Okay, I guess Billie was saving her big drop for later today! Interesting!

It makes me think that the food experiment is having an impact, although I ran into a problem - she ate well at preshot and +1 but wasn't really hungry around +2 or +3. She ate a few bites at those times, but that was it, so maybe that had something to do with the +3 to +4.5 drop. Is it safe to try even less food at least at preshot to spread out her appetite more? She is so used to free feeding that she mostly picks at her food unless she is really hungry or I'm giving her boiled chicken. Should I try giving boiled chicken meals at +2 and +3, or does that not have an impact since it is 0 carb?

Thank you!

ETA: It looks like she is having a more "normal" cycle today with a nadir around +6 rather than +4.

You can try feeding a little less at pre-shot and seeing if it'll keep her eating a little longer

It's all trial and error (mostly error) when it comes to finding what works best for each kitty!

I'd save the boiled chicken for pokey treats. Since they're 0 carb, they wouldn't work for slowing the drops

All in all though, a very nice cycle today!

Thanks Chris!

It looks like we have a mini bounce now, but it's not too high. Seeing her surf today was so lovely!

Billy had a good day. It's hard to prevent the big drops. Then when you succeed sometimes you give too much food and you don't get the long stretches in green. Like Chris said, it's trial and error. I find every time I think I've figured things out Max throws me a curve. they do keep it interesting.
