Thanks for the "cheer"! I just hate these bounces but she seems and looks SO much better ........ Fed Chicken & Liver for breakfast hoping to make Mr. Liver cooperate! I'm on guard ready for her to drop - but Royalty don't always do what you want them to do!

Hope Tashie clears this bounce for you. Those bounces are aggravating but it sounds like she is doing much better. It makes it all worth it. Now if Mr. Liver just gets with the program.

Hi Bern,
No, Tashie is NOT the highest kitty on the board....that dubious honor goes to our Mali girl...check out her SS. Although I think we are making inroads with the dosecrease a few days ago.
Tashie, you and I are always vying for the high rung of the ladder.....I came down a little yesterday and hope to stay down..now come on down and lets play -Mali

SO! I have had yet ANOTHER talk with Liver man. But now I am also having a wonder at myself ....... wonder if I an actually giving her .25U rather than a sk.5? Going to PRACTICE again with MR GREEN food colouring - wish we could COLOUR the darned insulin!

I know what you mean about the blacks freaking and greens having you look over your shoulder, but as you can see except for a few absolute miscues on my part, Mali doesn't know much about the greens....but that doesn't mean we aren't trying.

RG, we are not having a great blue/green day at all - no I am "second guessing" my dosing! I am ready to strangle Mr. Liver as he is seriously getting on my nerves! Hang in there! You sound a bit discouraged - I'm right there with you! You can nag to me if you need to because I know EXACTLY how you are feeling! Hang in there

no naggin here, Bern...we just make the best choice we can and go with it. I've still got 5 more cycles on this dose, then we will decide on dosage. I agree - not that I know much at all but I am VERY leery of veterinary advice when it comes to diabetes. Seems to me that they are quick to prescribe insulin that they know NOTHING about - or, at least that is what I'm going through. Tashie is ONLY 5.2 pounds and was about 4 pounds 10 oz. or so when diagnosed - the vet had me start her on 1U a day - she didn't even KNOW you could dose less because she was having me use the needles that "go with" the Lantus (eh, $49.00) AND as Lanuts is a 12 hour insulin, once a day made no sense - but I didn't know that!
Then, I wasn't home testing because she said I didn't NEED to and when she spot checked Tash and she was in the 400's wanted to up her to 2U in the morning and 1U at night. Again, not knowing about "consistent dosing" and about the 12 hour overlap. I shudder to think what would have happened to Tashie if I'd listened - I knew NOTHING but something was gnawing at me on the drive home and I got on the Internet and found FDMB. I was VERY skeptical at first - it's hard to NOT listen to a "doctor" but it all eventually made sense and here is the really sad thing - I am SUCH A NEWBIE but I am confident that I know MORE than she does now.
So, this is what Tashie thinks ......

Okay then! I KNOW that her PMPS is HIGH - but it's lower than it's been for the last 2 days Being that she was 587 & 599 ....... Yeah, I know but I am clinging to straws here!
I also think I may have been drawing closer to .25 than .5 - tonight I hooked up a major lighted magnifier and it really helped! Gosh, when did my eyes get THIS bad? I sued to be able to thread a needle with one hand tied behind my back blindfolded!
So, I have now given her FOUR (yes, count them, FOUR) insulin shots! Whoo Hoo! And it's not a piece of cake with that coat - SO thankful she is not in "full coat" --- by then she WILL BE OTJ
Tashie is AMAZINGLY 1,000,000 times better than she was 10 days ago - she is brighter, and I sorta think she KNOWS I'm trying to help her and not hurt her. The elusive recluse is now sort of (secretly) enjoying the attention - which means I have to also make sure the "boys" are getting lots of attention too - is there EVER time for me??? - but that's okay, if THEY are okay, I will be okay

If the 5Ps are in place as well as eating and drinking normally then she is doing pretty well. Most people give an update that ncludes those plus any fun or interesting things they, or their cat, have been doing that day

Oooh, I can answer the easy ones. I usually would put 1.75 in the one column. Leaves room for things to go in the 2 column.
BTW, Neko also used to hold the daily record for highest PS. Then she finally lost interest in blacks and over a year later is slowly losing interest in reds. Now if only I could get her to forget the pinks. ohmygod_smile That saying that it's a marathon, not a sprint - it's so true.
