Happy Solstice, Happy Summer!!

Stu began celebration of the solstice by digging a huge outdoor litterbox, contributing to it, and then digging another and contributing to it. He then chased a robin and went galloping around through woods and lawn until I had to bring him in. We're going paddling today and I wanted to feed him his 2nd breakfast and get in a +2 before we leave. Mr. Cat is really looking forward to the solstice party tonight at Tess's on the CA dunes and surf. Grilled lizzard will be delicious. He'll put pizza on the menu, too. The party for Ney in the desert last night was terrific fun. The chef got home quite late and said that all the kitties want to be travel cats now, after seeing Ney's set up for themselves! But I'm sure the beans have other ideas!!
Everyone have a great first day of summer. We'll be back sometime arounmd +9. Will leave food in Stu's automat.

Sounds like Stu has a goal to make a deposit in every square inch of the woods there, Ella! He is such a lucky kitty...gets to go out in the woods w/o a leash and never has to "hold it" until he gets into the house.

Have a good paddle day. Hope you come home to some really nice numbers! Spot is also looking forward to Tess's party tonight. He made me go out and buy him some new beach shoes and goggles just for the occasion, and can't wait to help you out with the grilling!

Enjoy your paddle today Ella - hope you have great weather for it. dreary and overcast here this morning, yet again. summer has been elusive here in the PNW - sounds like you guys are fairing better.

Sounds like Stu was truely celebrating the first day of Summer this morning. I hope you see some good numbers from him when you get home. I hope you have a really fun paddle.

Stu is quite a joyful boy!! Hope he had fun last nite--Moonie will meet him at the party tonite & wants to dance to the song

Hi again, Everyone, Today was a perfect Adirondack summer day: blue sky, nice breeze, temps in the low 70s--just wonderful, as was our paddle on Round Lake (near Tupper Lake). Stu was bouncing out the door when we got home, meowing as he went. He rolled on the brick walk and then lounged in the shade. A chipmunk was foolish enough to show himself, so Stu went on the chase (to no avail, the little rodent got away). But Stu didn't have to count on a snack of chipmunk, he had eaten most of what we put out in his automat! Now he's getting ready to head out to Tess's Solstice party. Yes, Sienne, he does make LC pizza--2 kinds: chicken pizza with tuna crust, and chicken pizza with shredded duck skin crust. Both have a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. And then there will be the grilled lizzards. Tess is busy catching them as I type. Hopefully these lizzards are not an endangered species! All those kitties are going to celebrate the longest day/shortest night tonight!

Ella, your paddle today sounds lovely! I'm envious of your weather. I am so glad you get to go out and enjoy your beautiful surroundings so often. :-D

I didn't know there was a party, my bean's been away from LL for a few days. I am leaving right now and the biggest news of all is that I'M WEARING GREEN! :mrgreen: I will be there soon to help catch lizards. I'm gonna pick Blackie up on the way.

Glad to see Stu surfing blue today too. The party is in full swing I can hear the singing and shouts all the way over here. Sorry I'm so late , I went to updat the menu and forgot to come back. Tess had running for all sorts of last minute details.

Your paddle sounds perfect. I do miss seeing green around me out here.

Blackie's bringing lizard tails from our patio, so they won't run out of lizard. :mrgreen:

hi Ella - sounds like a perfect day in paradise - wonderful! and hooray for Stu who chases chipmunks! and squirrels too i bet. Mannie just looks at them, as do the civvies. came home one afternoon to find a squirrel in my house, sitting in the middle of a sheet cake i had just baked and frosted, eating away - the little varmints apparently have quite the sweet tooth - and there sat those cats, just watching him take care of the cake. unreal - so STU: YOU ROCK!

Mannie left hours ago, grillin' tools in tow, ready to help in the kitchen, grill too, and even catch lizards if need be. going to be quite the party!

Nice numbers for Stu today too! Mannie decided pink was the color of the day, pink and nothing but pink. ohmygod_smile maybe he'll break that this evening, follow Stu to the yellows?
 
There was a cake on your kitchen table and the cats didn't eat it?! :o

Is it weird that that's the part of the story I'm astonished by? ;-)

oh sarah - yeah, they did not eat it... go figure! they were too busy watching the squirrel. who they let in the house, unchased, un-anything. some watch cats. Mannie says HI btw and was so glad that Buzz made the party.
