Been searching for days. Reading everything. I see that people test after morning insulin and after evening insulin at various points like +1 +2.5 +3 +4 +5 +7, etc.
What is the suggested Curve Schedule?
Thank You.

It is in the sticky on dosing methods.

With SLGS you hold a dose for 7 days and then perform a 12 hour curve, as noted, testing every 2 hours. You can also do a curve testing every 3 hours over an 18 hour period. All data is good data, so even when not running a curve, it is recommended to try and get random spot checks in at different times on different cycles to fill in the blanks and get a feel for how the dose is working. The goal really is to get an idea of how your cat responds to insulin and carbs.

Part of this process is getting a feel for basic concepts:
  • Onset - the length of time before insulin reaches the bloodstream & begins lowering blood glucose
  • Peak/Nadir - the lowest point in the cycle
  • Duration - the length of time insulin continues to lower blood glucose

My clinic asked me to do the first curve at 90 minute intervals. They didn't explain why but maybe they wanted more just because it's the first time?

My personal encounters with vets have not been good. But with that said how long did they want you to do the test?? With hourly it is only 12 hrs easy for me to do and Magellan is such the good boy about being tested.
