Morning LL,

WCR Sara seems fine. Couple more pieces to the puzzle. Sienne, now that you mention blood, I had wiped up a few watery blood colored spots in the bathroom. [same room where the peeing is happening.]

I find that when they go its not that much. The first time it was quite a bit. But even than the rug had absorbed everything and their was no puddle. In fact the top of the rug just feels damp to the touch. The only way I knew was because the rug was all scrunched up as the cat tried to cover it up.

So I believe I am dealing with a UTI. Whether that kitty has diabetes or not I don't know. I am off today because I am taking my DH to his ride to the airport. He is going to Africa for 6 weeks. So I will be alone with all the furbabies. Being off today, I'm also trying to catch a glimpse of who is doing this.

Hi Jan,

Maggie just got over a UTI recently. The way I knew something was up with her was that she was going to the potty often but in just small dribbles. It was not her normal urine deposits. Someone here mentioned it sounded like a UTI. Sure enough when the Vet did a urine check and bloodwork, it was a UTI. Then a culture was also done to see which antibiotic she needed. I hope it isn't anything serious. When does kitty see the Vet?

Great AMPS for Sara. It sounds like you've got some detective work cut out for you. I'm sure the kitties are going to appreciate your stalking the LB.

Update~ I know its Sara now, I saw her. Its just a little bit at a time so It's probley UTI. I'll call today and see if I can get her in ealier than thursday.

Sienne, I call it stalking the towel. She was using the bathroom rug. There is no LB in there. So I took the rug out and replaced it with towels. Easier to clean. But I'm glad the lurking around is over. Also thanks for the key about the bood.

So glad I finally figured out who it was. :-D

Well, one mystery solved!!!! Poor little Sara! But, isn't it great that they do something to tip us off? :roll:
Well, it's not so great for the bathroom rug, but at least you know now who to focus on.

What tests do I have the vet run for this possible UTI?

Pat about Flortiflora. Is that something that I can just start now?

Sorry I don't know much about this but I've really never had to deal with it.

Hi Jan,
I'm going thru the same thing with my Buddy, he was dx'd with cystisis. I need to read what the difference is between that an a UTI? I knew at one time but have forgotten. Look at my condo to about Buddy.

Know your not alone!!!! LOL :)

You want the vet to take a sterile urine sample via cystocentesis (a needle into the bladder). You want it sent out for culture and sensitivity (C & S). The vet may also want to take blood for a CBC (complete blood count). An elevated white blood cell count can indicate that infection is present.

I got Sara's vet apt moved up to tomorrow at 9:30. :-D I'm having a cystocentesis urine sample taken with c&s plus CBC. Thanks Linda

And thanks Jan I went to your condo and picked up the site on UTI's etc. that somebody [can't remember who right now] gave you.

I'll give a update tomorrow.
