Hi everyone!

Racci had a great day yesterday and it looks like she's continuing it today. She was all green yesterday and has a nice low blue this morning after having 2 of her breakfasts and some treats. She fell asleep before her meal that she gets after her shot so I'll wake her in a few minutes to see if she's interested in it then. If not, I'll have to make sure I get that +3 so she doesn't get too low and feed her then.

Racci is feeling good today and all p's are in place. She wasn't too happy when I went back to sleep for an extra hour after feeding her as she wanted me to play with her and was already stretched out on the lr rug with her 'nanna' next to my laptop. Since she has to follow me that meant she had to move. :lol:

I can't believe how quickly I'm going through test strips! I just can't keep them in stock! I'm almost out again! This is crazy. I order 100 usually but this time ordered 200 but instead of getting here quickly like I expected, they gave me a date of the 27th-29th! Grrr! That's so aggravating. It looks like I'll run out again unless they ship faster and just gave that date to play it safe. I was ordering from Hock's and getting them really fast but they got me mad the last time I ordered when they wouldn't do anything about a bad shipment so I've been ordering from Amazon & American Diabetes for the same price thru fdmb but they're so slow! I may have to go back to Hock's after all. Does anyone know why Hocks is no longer one of the shopping partners for fdmb?

I'm going to try to update my ss. TTYl.

No idea on Hocks. I get my shipment in two days from ADW. Wonder why it takes so long for you.

I missed Racci's +3 and her +4-135 so it looks like a blue day today instead of green. I'll take low blues anytime though. :razz: Thanks.

This time I ordered the strip thru Amazon but they're coming from American Diabetes. Weird but they charge less that way! Maybe I'll get it faster than they say on the order. I hope so. Two days would be ok. That's what Hocks always does.

I hope Tarragon is doing well. I still havent been able to visit today or to update my ss. I'm having puter problems and have been working on it. ugh!

I'm glad that Ms. Racci is doing well in the breathing department. Is is incredibly hot there? It is in Mass...well into the 90's. The AC was turned on last night. Does the AC affect her asthma?

Traci, Yes, it has been really hot here. well into the 90's Raand almost 100 with the windchill factor and humidity. We had to put the ac back on a few days ago which is really better for Racci but DH complains the whole time. Racci's asthma has been a lot better again, thankfully and she's acting better about taking her meds so that was related as I thought. She is still arguing a little, halfheartedly though, as if she's not ready to give up the game yet. :lol:

Barb, Yesterday was like one of Daphne's beautiful runs. Lately she's been doing a lot of them but not full days. Usually she has an am or pm preshot that is blue but those all greens are starting to come more often for Racci. :razz: She had a run of 3 green days in a row last week! That was really nice! It's amazing how all of a sudden she's improved so much!

I don't recall the story on Hock's though a search on the board might find the emails. I believe they were bought out and the new company did not want to participate. I've ordered twice from Hock's, monojet syringes, because I was not happy with the quality of the ones coming from ADW. The first order came late and instead of syringes, I got several bottles of diabetic foot lotion. It took a few days to get that sorted, then they sent the syringes. The quality was no better. It seems to take a little longer from them than from ADW. You can order direct from ADW, they are very prompt.

Hi Anne,

The new owners of Hocks don't appear to be doing so well. :lol: I guess my order wasn't the only one screwed up. When I get a chance I'll search out why they don't support us as partners any more but that sounds right.

ADW was higher priced, not much though. I'll try them next time. I already ordered 200 strips so just have to hope they come fast now. It ships direct from ADW even though it's going through Amazon so maybe I'll get lucky and receive it today. Buying them locally costs 3x as much. I hate switching to the other meter in the interim tho.
