What has happened??? I checked it twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things. My alarm didn't go off last night so I have no clue if he dropped more. Is this some sort of bounce? I'm devastated :(

Any chance at all he got into kibble? How's he acting? Any signs that something is wrong with him like a UTI?

I can't think of anything he could have gotten into. The last time I fed him I gave him the high carb gravy food but that was around midnight. I gave him the little nibbles that are in the gravy food as well because I was having a hard time just getting the gravy. But that wouldn't still be in his system?
He is acting fine although he did throw up for the first time in forever last night. He was acting fine again after that.i just don't understand. I'm at work now and can't wait to get home and retest.
I feed everyone at the same time and take their food up when they are done so there was no food down. Last night my fiancé was about to feed him some of his ground meat but I caught him before he gave it to him. HE knows he's not supposed to give him anything.
I hope he clears this soon.

It sounds like he might be bouncing big time or else the depo finally drained and he still needs a little support. I'll let the experts tell you what to do. Don't get discouraged. This is just a bump in the road. He just wants us to have more pj parties. Max and I had one all alone last night.

I know it's frustrating, but it is just one number. Peyton will get back on track quickly. Any chance you gave a fur shot?

I'm giving such a small amount of insulin that it's hard to measure. I thought I gave him a fur shot the other day. How long would that take to show up?

Here's the link to yesterday's condo. It is possible Peyton went lower. I've seen Neko's numbers take a dive 2 hours when the HC wore off 2 hours after consuming it. But he will recover - cat's specialize in confounding us. :lol: I'm sure your next test will be better.

ETA: It's been 6 cycles since the fur shot - it wouldn't take that long to show up. Usually any delay is at most a few cycles.

It could be bouncing or delayed bouncing. Maybe he went lower the other day. You are giving such a small amount of insulin. Maybe it didn't get in when you thought it did. I bet your test will be better later. One number is only one number. I bet your test will be better later.

You said he threw up. Did he have a hairball? When Gracie has a hairball, her BG goes way up and then comes back down after she's yacked it.

Last night he threw up his food right after he ate. This morning there was a hair all but I don't know who it belonged to. Maybe it was him? I'm headed home from work now to check on him. I pray it was just some fluke. I had gotten myself excited for him this morning and was shocked to see such a high number when he's been doing so well.

I just walked in from work to find Peyton on the side table of my bed. I thought "well that's odd." Now I know what happened! Last night I had a glass of chocolate milk but fell asleep before pouring it out. He's been drinking the chocolate milk!!!! Now he's asking for food and I don't know what to do. Do I go ahead and feed him the lowest carb food I have? Should I go ahead and test him again? I JUST busted him with his face in the glass.

Oooh, I love chocolate milk too! Naughty boy. :lol: I'd test him, can't hurt. I'd also feed him regular LC if he normally gets a meal at this time. Don't do anything different.

I think we all kind of figured there had to have been something....glad you found out what it was! I'm sure that makes you feel better!

Don't worry about it though...this too will pass and he'll be right back on track soon!

Even with just downing some more chocolate milk he's down to 151! He keeps going back to the table for more and can't figure out where it went. Lol
I gave him his regular low carb food and he's a happy boy. A happy boy with a belly full of chocolate milk!!!

Whenever we see a cat that's been green like Peyton on a low dose, and then they shoot up, it's "usually" either (a) contraband or (b) they have something going on. We've had some pretty funny contraband stories (GA Muffin) and also I believe it is Scooter that eats everything he can get his paws on.

Whew!!! Great detective work. Did he have a chocolate mustache? :lol:

Look at Peyton go! He doesn't seem any worse for the wear despite the chocolate milk incident.

Like Marje said, I'm sure you were super stressed with the numbers this AM, but I'm giggling at the image of him sampling your chocolate milk. What a naughty (silly) boy! :-D

I have gotten a really good laugh out of it as well. I was pretty excited to catch him because then I knew the culprit. To think while I was laying there snoozing that sneaky little fella was right beside my head slurping up milk! Momma has learned her lesson! :lol:

Chocolate isn't good for dogs or cats but they need a lot of it usually for problems. I doubt there was even that much in a full glass of chocolate milk. Everything should be fine and you are watching him closely anyhow.

I immediately started reading up on it. With chocolate syrup he would have to consume 5 Tablespoons for it to be toxic. He may get some diarrhea but I think we are good on toxicity...whew!
I guess the only good thing about the chocolate milk is that it kept him from dropping too low while I was sleeping ;-)

well the little snarf! they have carb radars and somehow can ferret out the things that they shouldn't have! glad you've got the mystery solved and really glad it wasn't enough to be a problem.

i guess that confirms that chocolate milk is full of sugar, doesn't it?!

I was trying to find something to keep me awake and I fell asleep anyway. Wonder how today would have turned out had I poured my milk out. Ugh! I can't think about it!

I called him to come eat supper and he runs over to my nightstand all excited!! He looks back at me meowing like "WHERE'S MY MILK?!" No milk for either of us tonight!

We had a mostly green day so I don't know if he will come back down or bounce higher. It would be great if his PMPS is the highest he gets but who knows. I'll check back later. Peyton is looking really good after his special treat. Doesn't he know cats aren't supposed to like sweets?
