I certainly don't have twins this morning... Doc's number may have been influenced by food - at 6am, he still had food in one bowl, at 8am, it was gone. I should have just picked it up at 6 but my brain wasn't working well. KT's number tells me that he didn't eat anything after his shot time meal.
These 2 sugar boyz are confused....and have been since Dakota arrived. Meter beep means it's test time..for both of them. So...I insert strip for one cat, the OTHER one comes expecting pokie. Whichever one I DON'T test first gets this terribly confused look on their face - HEY MAMA! Dat's mi beep! I getz pokie! I getz treat! Wot's goin' on? I'm slowly moving Dakota from his room's testing shelf to our regular 'animal' spot - lots of light, shelves, supplies, paper towels, etc. Last night KT was on the table laying for test, here comes Doc running down the hall jumping up almost in the middle of KT.
A year ago today I got that awful phone call telling me my sweet little brother died in an accident overnight. For weeks, I walked around in a fog - not him, not my baby brother...but God knew what he was doing. It's a hurt that will never heal but I can now think about it without getting terribly depressed. When we went to clean out his house and sell it, I dug 6 little day lilies of his for my memory garden. It was the very wrong time of the year to transplant them but it's what I was handed - I planted them. All 6 rooted and grew. About 4 days ago, the first one bloomed - a beautiful double red/orange striped bloom. I cut the blooms after they open as they're poison for cats - SpikeKitty doesn't go there but I wouldn't risk it for anything. I'll probably never let them bloom again but this year, my heart needed them badly. Something quite unique - there are 5 of us 'kids' including little brother - FIVE of the six plants put off blooms....the sixth put off a baby....
BIG HUGS to all that visit today!!!
