Doing the Jinx dive-bomb today. Just gave some LC to see if I can slow him down a bit. Fingers crossed he keeps his food down and eases up a bit on the drop.

Just a suggestion ;-): if he's coming down fast at +2 (and I know he doesn't like testing so you are trying to not overtest in case he gets low), it would be "best", if you can, to test at +3, see where he is and if he's still coming down, feed more LC.
If he's not wanting to be tested at +3, then definitely feed him LC.

And I will definitely take that suggestion. Today for instance, would you consider anything less than 266 at +3 to be a drop that warrants food? Or were you thinking a drop more than XX BG, i.e. if he goes more than 50 lower from his +2, give him food. Hope that makes sense. ;-)

I have to leave the house for an hour and a half but gave him an early portion of his regular LC meal at +5.5 and a little more now +6 so I'm confident he'll be fine.

Stay safe Jinx! Never know what these cats will do. He's turned into quite the diver. Neko joined Jinx at the lagoon today and an hour after "typical nadir" and a rising number, she dove down again. But you left food out which is good.

I think it might be helpful to try and get him on a frontloading schedule. I alluded to it yesterday.

You figure out how much you are giving him per cycle now. Then experiment with dividing it up into different portions and feeding it at different times. Maybe you want to give him a smaller portion at PS and then larger portions at +1 and +2. Or split it up evenly between those three meals. You have to do it every single cycle no matter what the numbers look like. It also takes time in some cats to see progress so don't be surprised if it doesn't work overnight....it rarely does. But ECID. I noticed a difference in Gracie within a month or so. I believe Gabby took a little longer.

Beautiful, flat curve today from +5 on. Great job!!

Thanks, Marje. He did great today and gave me a nice PMPS as well. Will check at +2 to try to get an idea of what he has up his sleeve for tonight.

I just gave him 1/3 of his evening meal and will give the remaining 2 portions at +1 and +2. If you think it might be better to try varying portion sizes between the three, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll use equal amounts and will see how it goes.

The only thing that might throw it off is when I use the automatic feeder for his +6 meals, he may miss one (or two) if he doesn't eat them within an hour because when the cover slides to open up for the new meal, the old one gets closed. Maybe I'll get a feeder that leaves the food uncovered after it opens... But then I could be dealing with him eating old raw quail. Decisions, decisions... :-D

If you fed him at +3, you could possibly wait until +4.5 but no longer.
