Slightly better start for Walter. Even after a particular crazy morning with the kits.

Iris and Fern are feeling great and are ready to bust out of their crate for good. However, both of these girls are fearless and tend to overestimate their climbing and jumping abilities a bit. Much to her delight, Iris has discovered the super scratcher (aka the kitten climbing wall) and obsessively climbs to the top of the 30+ inch scratching post. The one thing that she forgets about is a plan to get down. Or maybe her actual plan is just to mew loudly and get her foster mom to run to her rescue. :rolleyes:

Flora is still under the weather and is mostly sleeping. She seems to enjoy the formula much more than canned food - so I am offering that throughout the day. If she is not significantly better by tonight, I am making a vet appointment for her.

Mandarin has been doing a great job taking care of Flora while Capone is entertaining the two hyper kits. Thankfully, my vacation and the new arrivals have had no negative effect on his BG levels. This morning, he gave me a lovely 70. :D

Ah Iris is super cute and she probably knows perfectly well that you'll come running to fetch her from the top of the super scratcher!
Good number for Mandarin; happy he's enjoying life at the falls.
Walter.....time to come visit the lagoon again!

I want to smush her! Reminds me of civie Moo....she as a maniac of a kitten. Sending vines and prayers for little Flora and what a good boy Mandarin is for taking care of her. Glad she's eating the formula the poor thing. Ok Walt, lots of dosecreases going on so be the first at the lagoon buddy.
 
Almost too cute to look at! OMG, it's a good thing you are half-way across the country, or I'd be on the way over to catnap her!!!

So stinking cute!! She's going to have her furrever bean wrapped around her paw, for sure. I'm glad the kittens' arrival didn't upset Mandarin and his BG is still nice and GREEN!! Walt, you have to stop wearing those yellow shorts. They're starting to need a thorough washing. How about switching to the blue shorts for the rest of the day?
 
It turned into a decent cycle for Walter. He even got into his blue shorts for a while and hung out on the beach. But I think he might be bouncing from that blue streak now. I guess after two weeks of higher numbers, his body is just not used to them anymore. :confused:

Poor Flora was feeling even worse this afternoon and I ended up taking her to the vet. Good news is that her temp is normal, her heart and lungs sound good, but she does have diarrhea. At her age, even that can make her feel really crummy. They sent out a fecal sample and I will have the results in the morning and we will go from there. They also managed to get 25cc of sub-q fluids into her, so that should help too. Please keep those vines coming, she could really use them.
 
Sending vines for sweet little Flora, at that age diarrhea is so debilitating for them:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Come on Walt you know you want to head down the beach with your pals, no need to be shy.:)
