Good Morning, Everyone,

We are home and trying to get things organized, bills paid, etc. etc. The plumber is coming this morning to fix our faucet. Yay! It is to be another scortching-hot day and tomorrow promises to be even hotter. I opted to do a paddle tomorrow (with swimming at the lunch stop) instead of a bike ride (which is in Vermont and would involve driving to Plattsburgh and taking the ferry across Lake Champlain--a nice trip in cooler weather!)

Rusty had a good night and has a promising number this morning. He ate all of his first sitting of breakfast (Wellness Turkey, from the small cans, which seem to have a better consistency than the present lot of 5.5 oz. cans).

Oh oh, plumber is here. bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Nice start for Rusty! Sounds like a busy day for you. Good luck with the plumber. Hopefully the faucet is fixed quick and painlessly. Good idea on the paddle rather than the bike ride in the heat. Have a great day Ella!

Re: 6/20 Rusty AMPS 135, +5.5 120

Hi again,
We needed a whole new faucet fixture because the hot faucet stem on the old one had been jammed in so badly that it bent the underside of the fixture. So now we have a nice new fixture. The plumber is the daughter of the Master Plumber and we think it is great that she will be continuing her family business.

Rusty had a second sitting of breakfast while the plumber was here, but only ate about half of his little lunch. He really feels the heat in his thick fur coat. He has found himself a nice spot in the confluence of the air streaming between two fans and is taking his afternoon nap. We went outside for a little while this morning, before it got too hot, but it was already too hot for Rusty!

Off to visit condos and to pay some bills,

Ella & Rusty

The heat must be so miserable if you wear a fur coat, and Rusty has a lovely thick coat! What is up with this heat in the northeast?

How wonderful to have the daughter carrying on the family plumbing business. Happy Solstice!

Hi Everyone,
The FDMB must be feeling the heat. This is the 3rd time I have tried to post!! All is well. But Rusty may have gotten a short shot this evening because I couldn't see where the insulin was in the Monoject!

Happy Solstice!

Green Lagoon is a good place to celebrate the Summer Solstice.

Let's try to get this posted.

So far Ive experienced no problem with post on the Forum. Maybe a connection or line issue at your area? confused_cat

Steaming hot in Hongkong too. These two days, after the typhoon, we're experiencing 33 degrees! Kitties are eating less which I blame it on the weather!

Nice PS for Rusty! Purrrfect curve!

Nice cycle for Rusty today. Glad you had your faucet fixed. Yes, I heard tomorrow is to be a scorcher, too, according to friends and family on the east coast. Sounds like Rusty is settling in nicely and glad to be home. Have a good night.

Hi Ella, I'm sure its nice to be home, but yes, we sure are hot here on the east coast aren't we, and our kitties are feeling it so much more with their thick fur coats. I have the air on 69 for her. I had her shaved a few years back and I'm thinking I should do it again.

Rusty's numbers look great today and tonight's PMPS!

Rusty's doing well, despite the heat!! I know people think we have it bad here in Las Vegas because it gets so hot, but, the saying is true, "it's a dry heat" so it's not so bad. I feel for you folks back east.....the humidity has to be a killer!!

Stay cool!!!

RUSTY!! RUSTY!! I made the lagoon!  WOO HOO - let's party and celebrate the summer solstice. ~~ Mannie

Sorry to be so late in visiting. your day sounds productive - I like those kind of days. very nice on the faucet - bet you are glad to have that resolved! Enjoy he paddle tomorrow! Sounds like a perfect way to avoid the heat.

Thanks for asking about Mannie and the wellness turkey. It is still a so so thing with him - he ate a bit last night, then would not touch it again. I may try one of the smaller sized cans and see if that amasses a difference. For now we are back to cowboy cookout and surf and turf...

Hi Ella

Well....my comment made no sense last night because I was on my ipad and it decided to auto correct and I was too tired to notice :-D

So....what I did was go through the entire box of MJs and pull out the ones where there was a difference from the majority in the box with where the needle came down into the hub. So I kept all the ones that were consistent and set the
others aside for now. That way, if I pull the insulin into the syringe the same every time, then the same amount of insulin is in the hub. The further the needle extends into the hub towards the zero line, the less insulin in the hub for you to
shoot. The higher the needle is in the hub, the more insulin you get when you shoot.

I just make sure the hub and the needle are consistent, and then I draw my dose with the calipers. That's the best any one can do other than the drop method Ann uses. I've just never been able to ensure my drops are identical.

I hope that helps. if not, let me know and I'll take some pictures.
