Not expecting this high on 4th day at 1 unit. I didn't get a before bed test. Actually what does before bed test mean - is +2 okay or too early?
Otherwise Purrcee boy seems to be feeling okay. He is eating and alert and so far eyes look pretty good.
Today another vet appt for Latte at 10:00 so will try to get +4 or +5.
Purrcee's ears aren't good bleeders. His right ear works the best but still requires some milking.

Re: 6/20 Purrcee AMPS 423 ?

The capillary bed builds up as you test more and bleeding will get easier.

"Before bed" means get the latest test that you can. When I'm alone, I get a +2, then a +3.5 or 4, and then go to bed if all looks well. I get everything ready so that as soon as I get that last test, I can get in bed. I have to be really organized.

You really do need some data from the evening cycle, even the +2 is helpful. The scary thing is he may be going low at night (which is typical of cats) and if you don't test, you don't have any idea. When you see the high number in the morning, you think you should increase. But dosing is based on the nadir, not the pre-shot. If you increase based only on PS values, the risk of a hypo is much greater.

Purrcee, come down, there is nothing interesting up there!

Re: 6/20 Purrcee AMPS 423 ?

Hi Julie. Don't panic, Purcee will come back down in time. As Liz said, the ears become "better bleeders" the longer you test. Also like Liz said, watch the nadirs and try to get more PM test. You'll begin to make sense of a lot of this as you progress. It took months before I started feeling a little bit comfortable with my ability to interpret PF's SS. your're doing good so hang in there.

Try to put a link to Purrcee's previous condo in the first post of each day. It makes it easier for the person working with you if you need help. Here is the link to Purrcee's yesterday's cond.

Again, you're doing a good job. Have a nice day Julie.

I don't know how to consolidate the link like you did so I just put the entire link in my first post today.
You have a great day too!
