our son is here and has tested a couple of times and given one shot. i think he'll do ok - but punkin is giving him a really bad time with the testing. He's become a squirming maniac in the mornings when he's hungry, for us too. i showed Jay how to burrito him, but even with that he's being crazy. i think i'm going to have him give punkin some food while he's testing so he'll be calmer, maybe.

anyway, we're off in a few hours. i'm not going to have him post here, just to write it down and call me if he needs help. hopefully it will all go ok. i'm wishing we weren't leaving the little guy but i know my husband is dying to go.

have a great week, everyone. see you next Sunday.

Have a great time!

I sometimes give my kitty a bite of his testing snack right before I poke him. It does help keep him from wiggling in anticipation of the goody he is about to get. Eating doesn't raise the BG in one minute so it doesn't affect the number.

Good luck to your DS!

Hi guys .. Punkin, you need to be a good boy while the beanz are away, ok? I know how you feel about not wanting to leave your kitties .. we're leaving on Friday and I can't even stand the thought  Anyways, I'm sure punkin will be fine and you'll have a great time!

Maybe Punkin will wind up throwing a huge party for his kitty friends while you're gone.

Have a great time Julie! We'll miss you!

Punkin will be fine. It will bring them closer together!

Hope you have a wonderful trip!! Go enjoy yourself. You definitely deserve it.

Have a really good trip Julie.

Ok, when mom's away, the kitties will play. Partaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay at Punkin's house. ~Curry

PARTY at Punkin's place?!?!?! :-D :-D Not just one night, but almost a whole week!!

Have a great, safe trip Julie, and i'm sure Punkin is in great hands with his brother!!

enjoy your time away with your husband.

your son has your number, all the right instructions, and does know how to use the internet (i think our generation was intrinsically born with that knowledge).

besides, you are his mother, so you must have rubbed off on him, punkin is in more than capable hands...which are connected to both a cell phone and interweb if need be.

bon voyage!

Have a great trip - try not too worry, Punkin will be fine. It is wonderful that your son can care for him. I expect that once Punkin realizes that his caregiver is just that that he will be a good boy.

Enjoy your trip!

Champ and I have a deal....I give him the treat WHILE I'm poking, or there's no poking!!!

Have a great time on your trip. Remember, lots of pictures!!

all is well so far, although my son took off last night - he had the vet tech come and give punkin his shot, but no checking was going to happen again til this morning. punkin's numbers have been running between 160 and 280, so i should be able to relax. but i'm not. good grief - it really is like having a sick kid!

made it to Yosemite & spent a day wandering there - paid far too much for a very plain hotel room afterwards. you don't have much of a choice in those towns near by. then we headed to Dinkey Creek and camped there last night. we planned to stay 2 nights but decided to leave this morning instead. now we're at a cute little place in Shaver Lake that has wi-fi and we're heading down into the 100 degree valley in a bit. my dad's cousin's son (in his 70's) lives in Sanger and we're going to go meet him. He has a secretary that belonged to our great-grandmother that he's offered to me & if it's at all something i want i'm going to accept it. i'll have to have it shipped home somehow. I love antique furniture . . .

then i have a cousin in sacramento and we're going to see him at dinner tonight then head north. i'm anxious to get back to my punkin, although my husband is happy to doodle around and take our time getting home. i'm always like a horse that gets pointed home - once we're on the way i want to go the entire way and just get there. no place like home, you know.

i checked and don't see anyone going OTJ today, no crises that i could find, so i trust you're all doing well. hello from hot california!
