Mister's favorite color is blue 💙

He slept with me for a few hours last night, which doesn't happen often and I love it when it does. Then in true Mister form, woke me up at 4am by crawling across my chest, purring in my face letting me know it was time to get up and feed him. This is Mister's world.

Annnnnd there’s the bounce.

Those nice greens are still a bit scary for him. I'm getting more comfortable with them so hopefully I can help get his panicky liver on board soon too (literally and metaphorically 🏄‍♂️)

Still looking good. I think it must be hard for some cats to tolerate the greens. Karamelle is bouncing too from her green day yesterday. The bounces are hard because you never know how long they will last. Hang in there, everything is looking good. I think we've got this!!

Great job today, Elizabeth. He likes this dose! We are not worrying over the bounces as long as he gets back to green nadirs although I’m going to threaten him a little with a dosecrease since we’d like to see a wee bit lower on the green. Just a wee bit 😉

Thank you!! Im so happy to see him doing so well.

And part of that may be my fault too (not going lower on the greens), by adding extra carbs. That long stretch of blues was so nice I was really hoping to avoid a bounce and keep that momentum and flatten him out a bit after his drop into green this morning, with the hopes that he would continue to drop slower (which he did, but still bounced). So since he’s probably going to bounce anyway, would you recommend I just let him get as low as he can (obviously without going below 50 if I can help it and also keeping in mind at which point in the cycle he is when he’s dropping) before I add higher carbs?

Ugh yes exactly! I’m right there with you. The “just have to wait it out” part is tough.

We’ve always said you need to use the lowest carbs you need to get the job done. You’ve done a great job managing his curve. I understand what your goal was and he was flat for a while…all good. I might have not fed the +7 for certain.

Next time, once you get him stopped, perhaps try a little bit less than 15% if you have it. But you did great getting him stopped.

Okay that’s good to know, thank you. A lot of trial and error!

Right now I do have a few 8% Tiki Cat options, I can try that. I think tomorrow I’ll go through the food chart and find a few more 6-10% I think he might like so I can have them on hand. I’ve also tried mixing his LC with the 15% but he usually licks the gravy and leaves the “boring stuff” 😆
 
Awww what a wonderful story. My boys never sleep on top of me. They're more of a "beside me" type of cat so I'm always jealous of people with lap cats.

And he's been doing so well.

How were the storms?

It’s a rare occasion for Mister so it’s extra special when he does!

I closed all the curtains and kept my alerts turned on just in case anything crazy happened, otherwise I tried to block it out. We had some tree limbs down, lots of things blown around the yard and the power flickered out a few times but that was it! I enjoy thunderstorms, it’s the winds that get me so I’m thankful it wasn’t as bad as expected. Thank you for checking in on me🥹❤️❤️

Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you anticipated. I remember you mentioned in one of the posts that you also have dogs. What breed?/names?

Melly and Ava! Melly is a fox terrier/Australian cattle dog mix (mostly, lots of stuff in her DNA) and Ava is a Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier ☺️ 2 very different personalities but both Velcro dogs glued to my side. Mister adores his sister Calliope but actually spends most of his time with the dogs. They all get along really well, just a little family 🐾

What kind of cat is Peanut?

Ohmygoodness they're so cute!
I love that your cats and dogs co-exist and get along.
Peanut is also an orange and white cat I adopted back in 2021. He's featured in some of the photos I post of Nestle

Ahhh yes I just went and looked at the pictures you posted of Nestle’s flower pot bed (OMG btw I can’t stand the cuteness) and realized how much they look alike!!

Mister and Calliope aren’t related either but I just say “siblings” because that’s what they are 🤷‍♀️ I have the biggest soft spot for orange kitties, that was my very first cat. So I’m particularly fond of these 2! They look like they have such a happy, enriched life🥹😻
