+8 - 264 **Update

First time, I got up a little late this am. Fed all the cats EVO and they just don't like it. I am trying to get rid of a couple of cans that I have. I mixed it with the Friskies and they can tell. We have only one cat, Taylor, that eats anything you give her and a lot if you allow it. Oh well, they will eat it later in the day.

Merlin doing ok. Appetite is good, not as great as it has been, but at least he is eating. He wants to go out side a lot more than he ever has even when he was healthy. I can't let him out there on his own, because I have have to guard him against hawks and owls.

+5 Update:
Isn't it strange to get the same numbers in two hours? I know there is a variance in meters but still.

My vet for my 30 year old horse is coming over in 30 minutes so I don't know if I will be able to get a +6.

+8 Update:
No Merlin ... you are going up too fast!

If you edit the curly brace to a square bracket, the link will work.

I knew he was going up too fast at +8. I am thankful that Merlin got lower numbers during his mid-cycle though.

Also am thankful for a good report from my vet regarding my 30 year old horse today. Cuervo Tuff Stuff, i.e. Tuffy, turned 30 this April. Four years ago, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He had two surgeries. After the first surgery, it came back quickly so four months later, he had his second surgery. We really took out a big chunk of skin. The lab result indicated that we did not get it all. We were resigned to the fact that it would be returning soon. Fortunately, four years later, it has not returned and he is doing very well. He also has glaucoma and moon blindness uveitis in which he is now fully blind in one eye and partially in the other. Overall, he is doing better now but had a setback and has been severely depressed when he lost his companion of 26 years back in November of last year. He is a beautiful black horse with a white blanket and black spots on his rump.

Sorry to go on and on but today was a good day!

Yep he is an appaloosa. I got him when he was almost five. He was owned by an older couple that had over 20 horses when I lived in Indiana. They loved having horses but only to look out their front field and only liked watching them graze. They never handled them. He wasn't even halter broke and when they trimmed his feet (once a year), they would hog tie him and take him to the ground. It was pretty amazing that we were able to trailer him to our house without injury. I bought him for $600 and everyone thought I was crazy but I saw something in his eyes. The couple really loved him because he was so pretty and animated. His personality was so playful and amusing but he did have a juvenile side to him mostly because he was never worked with. He would take an old inner tube and grab it by the valve and swing it around a few times, let go and then run after it. He would get all the other horses to run after it. I had quite a time with him the first six months just getting him use to people and gaining his trust. Once I got him used to being tied to cross ties, he would bare his teeth and go after you when you walked by. Well we nipped that one in the bud immediately. It took me about six months to get him to pick up his feet to get trimmed. He was truly a breeze to break though. He loved it and he only bucked once while in training. Oh, and he bucked one other time several years later when we were attacked by bees in Oregon. We were in a very narrow gulch and I ended up slipping underneath him and once that happened he quit bucking and pulled me away from the bees while not even stepping on me. After three years in Indiana, we moved to Oregon and did a lot of wilderness camping with him. We had a zillion acres to ride in our backyard (the Cascades) and he loved our adventures. I have to have special lock for all my gates because he has figured out how to open every gate, chain and latch. He is a pretty cool, smart horse.
