We had the pancreatitis test this morning after 10 hours of fasting, and he ate greedily after his morning shot. The result was "abnormal." In reading about pancreatitis, I think it must not be a bad case if he has it. He doesn't throw up, and he eats plenty often enough. Although, I've been feeding him Wellness, since mid-March (3 months), which is apparently pretty high in fat. At first he liked the Beef and Chicken flavor, then he didn't. Then, he liked the Turkey, then he didn't. He liked the Chicken the past couple of days. This morning I gave him Chicken and Herring flavor as a reward for the long fast. Maybe the high fat food is catching up with him?
However, if IBD can cause an abnormal result on this test, Max's stool is usually very normal unless I give him a little too much Miralax, and he's just had subcues at the same time. That leaves a liver issue causing the abnormal result if it is not pancreatitis. Either one would cause difficulty regulating BG, I believe -- an intermittently working pancreas or a liver that is dumping glucose into the system because it is diseased. I don't know what that disease would be called other than cancer.
Maybe it's a mild case of pancreatitis, and we will find that he has an infection in his mouth/teeth. They are going to sedate him lightly and do a dental on him today.
