Good morning World! Welcome to our home altho' we've been on vacation for quite some time huh! No sense linking last condo...too long ago!

Dakota is doing OK overall altho' his numbers remain yellow and blue with a touch of greens sprinkled in. His kidney numbers were a bit worse on the last set of tests a couple of weeks ago. He is slowing down but he's still his silly loving self. We're starting daily fluids this week to try to help those bad numbers stay as low as possible.

All other fuzzy feetz are well - we currently have another little foster dog that got lost from home. He's a 20lb likely Maltese mix and sweet as can be. Does well with both other dogs and the cats. Miss Penny, our last foster failure from November, is now a healthy, sassy, gripey little old lady. She may be old and tiny but she still rules the roost of the other little dogs.

My dad is still with us altho' he has to be very sedated most of the time to keep his Parkinson's/Alzheimer's brain from being upset. The doctor (that only reads reports, never visiting) that was supposed to be taking care of him was overdosing him on sedation meds - each time a med didn't work, he'd add another one without taking any away. Dad ended up on 9 different meds for the same thing - several interacting with each other. 3 weeks ago, we finally took him off all of those and let his body 'reset'. We are just now beginning some of them again but slowly this time. Mother still goes over to see him almost daily but she's learning to live by and for herself for the first time in over 80 years.

We're all plodding along, taking things day by day. Hubby's HKPP acts up a bit more often but we got a new kind of potassium that doesn't upset him stomach as much. Me - just meeting myself coming and going as usual. I've started listing on ebay again which takes a lot of time. So far haven't had much success but hopefully it will pick up.

I try to at least stop by and catch up on condos a few times a week altho' I rarely post. We continue thoughts and prayers for the ones here that we see needing them. Extra ones for Wendy (Tiggy) battling so much with her babies.

HUGS to all that drop in and visit today! I'm still DANCIN' daily!!!!

I'm glad Dakota is doing okay. I hope the fluids help. I'm glad the others are doing well. Sorry your dad is to the point where he has to be sedated so much. That's good the new potassium isn't so hard on your DH's stomach. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

It's lovely to hear from you, Lyresa. I'm glad all the fuzzy feetz are hanging in there. It sounds like Dakota is more or less stable. I'm sure the fluids will help him.

Another lost dog fell into a tub of butter! Lucky little critter to land with you!

Keeping your DF and your DM, too, in my prayers, as well as you DH. How is your little granddaughter doing?

:bighug:

Vines and gentle hugs for Dakota! I hope the fluids will help him feel better, high creatine can surely make them feel like crap! Is he on pepcid and anti-nausea yet? Great report for your other furbabies- you are a special person!!

Sorry for your dad- it is good you're watching his meds. My MIL and FIL in their old home were not being monitored; I suspect MIL with her dementia was not understanding she was to stop taking meds when a new one was prescribed, thus she ended up with 12 different pills. And I wondered if she also was taking FIL's, they wouldn't let us hire a CG to help with their meds. It's very difficult, but it sounds like you, your DH and your mom are doing quite well. I continue to send vines and pray for your well being!

We're dancin' with you, Lyresa! Glad to hear that Doc is doing OK and that the other fuzzies and the new pup are also doing well. Continuing to think of your dad and mom. Having been through something similar with my parents (my dad's Parkinson's plus an apparent stroke), I know how hard it must be on your mom. I hope your dad's meds get straightened out.

Good news that your DH is having an easier time with his new med. A big HELLO to you both!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I'm a bit late but hopefully still eligible for a hug :)

Glad to hear all your fuzzies are doing well and that little old Penny is ruling the roost - you've got to love a grumpy oldie

Your dad is lucky to have you looking out for him, grrrrrr on doctors like that they can be as bad as some of the vets we see! Poor mom it must be a hard adjustment for her but if she's got any of your personality I'm sure that she'll cope, and hopefully she still has a little dance herself on occasion ;)
