Feeling MUCH better today about having to leave after shot for my own doctor appointment. Hoping +1 looks good and safe so I don't worry and can enjoy the day as much as possible. Going to pick my 84 year old mom up and take her along for the ride to get her out of the house and out into the world a little. My Dad died in December, so keeping mom from just sitting at home alone has been another one of my challenges.

Will get a +1 before I leave and if at all possible, will try to be home in time for a +6, but if China is looking OK at +1, I'm not going to try to rush mom...if I can't get it until +7 then I can't. I'll worry, but I can't rush my mom either. Being a parent to your own parents, your own human kids and your furkids too can be a challenging time in our lives!

Would be nice if I could get my son to check in on her during the day, but he's proven time and time again, that his word doesn't mean much, so I'm not going to even bother asking. Either way I'd worry...if I'm gone she's not being watched as closely, and even if he said he would, I wouldn't know if he was actually doing it or not :sad:

Nice start to the morning! She's doing well with the reduction. Of course, we always want better, how about some green, China? :lol: Just to be a little picky, the spreadsheet has 190. Sorry, I will blame my inner German. :roll: :lol:

It is tough taking care of parents. I'm sorry about your Dad. That's great that you are getting your mom out and about.

China sounds like a very beautiful kitty. I'd love to see a picture. Hint, hint.

Isn't she a cutie! Thanks! Looks like you are good to visit Mom. If you leave food out, will China get any?

Morning, yes hard having to be parent to parent,but it nice you get her out of the house,hope you can leave food for China so she is not so hungry. :smile:

Yes, with the other two behemoths in the house, if I have to leave, I leave enough down so poor little China can get some. Sure didn't think I'd be gone quite so long, but it was a nice sunny day, and Mom enjoyed seeing some new scenery (and treated me to lunch at Red Lobster!!)

I wish China would read the manual on what a "typical" cat's reactions are (of course she's not at all typical), but it might make this whole adventure easier on both of us....unfortunately, she only reads the comics.....LOL


I just got me a new Smartphone (unfortunately, it's smarter than I am, but I'm learning)! I'll try to get some pictures of my other two so I can share more of my family with you all! Add one 70lb golden retriever/yellow lab mix and there's a total of 5 souls in the house ...I'll see if I can get a pic of the dog too

Happy to be home and out of the car! After 14 back surgeries, cars are hard on me, but I guess I'd better get used to it since the doctor I had to see today I'll have to continue to see once every 3 weeks for the immediate future anyway

Time to get some dinner cooking! Have a wonderful evening everyone!

I'm glad you had a good day with your mom (and a yummy lunch!).

I was going to, but we still had 4+ hours before we'd be home and it was in the 90's outside...I wouldn't have trusted it after spending that much time without refrigeration ....and what the kitties don't know, tasted delicious...LOL

It is "fish night" in the house though, so she'll be getting salmon...she loves it!
