Champ's last condo was a bit ago so I'm not going to dig back to try to find it, especially since he's just coasting along like normal, healthy and sweet as can be!! He had such a great day yesterday and I'm hoping it continues.
I've been surviving on three hours of sleep for the past three nights because of work. When you're self employed, work tends to be feast or famine....you're either swamped or there's nothing to do. Because of that, I take all the work I can get whenever it's available so I don't have to stress as much when things slow down. I think today I'll take a nice LOOOOONG nap since it should be a much less hectic day. Fingers crossed!!!
I just found out a couple days ago that my brother-in-law was just offered, and took, a job in Texas. My parents live there and my sister and brother-in-law bought a house there about three years ago, going to visit my parents and their house (
) a few times a year. They've been waiting for the right job to come along so they could afford to move out there and it looks like now is the time. My sister is my best friend. I've never lived away from her before. I'm going to miss her like crazy!!! My brother-in-law is one of those guys that, when you call for help, he's right there asking what he can do. I don't know what I'll do without him when something goes belly up in the house, or with my car, or out in the yard, etc., etc. He's saved me more times than I can count. He's just one helluva guy and I love him!!! They're leaving in two to three weeks and, boy, it's going to be hard!!
Back to cat stuff, I bought some syringes at ADW, a brand I hadn't bought before, to see how I liked them. They're called Sure Comfort. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT buy these syringes. They are so bad, they should be pulled from the market. I've attached a picture of two syringes. The one on the left is a Monoject and the one on the right is the Sure Comfort. You can clearly see the difference in the two. The Monoject has their markings exactly even from zero to 0.5, 0.5 to 1, etc. The Sure Comfort, on the other hand, has twice as much space between zero and 1 than it does between 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and 3 and 4, and then another huge space between 4 and 5, another huge space between 5 and 6, and then repeats the cycle. I actually counted out the drops and was surprised to find the difference in the amount of drops from the Monoject to the Sure Comfort, when measuring from zero to 1 unit, were within about a half a drop of each other, mainly because there is no "hub" on the Sure Comfort so no extra insulin "hiding" up there. However, the markings for the zero line are so off from syringe to syringe that I got 5 drops from zero to 0.5 with one syringe and 11 drops from zero to 0.5 with another. THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!!!! These syringes are going back. I ended up having to buy some Relion's from Walmart because I didn't have time to reorder the Monoject's from ADW and get them in time before I ran out. The Relion's are very accurate from syringe to syringe and getting any bubbles out is so easy with them, but are just so hard to get to your exact dose without squirting your insulin out!!! The plunger tends to stick no matter how you try to gently twist. Oh well...at least I know Champ isn't getting overdosed or underdosed on a cycle by cycle basis now!!!
I hope everyone has a great day!! I'll get to condo's later on today when I've completed my work and have taken a much needed nap!!!
