...and it is dark brown!! I finally witnessed the action this morning, so I know without a doubt it was Trixie's....no guessing by box location and unburied-ness! I saw another brown poop a few days ago that COULD have been hers based on her general stats, but since I didn't actually see it happen, I didn't know for sure. Yep, crazy cat lady reporting for duty...I'm happy I saw brown poop! I don't know what last week's black poop was about...whether it was the anal gland issues or the p-titis flare or what. It is certainly something I will be keeping an eye out for, but for now...the poop is brown

Trix's appy continues to be pretty happy, but yep, I still have to present the plate to her. This morning, however, was awesome...she SO did not want her Fancy Feast, but she was on a serious prowl among the kibblehheads' bowls. THIS is what I want to see...THIS is a big glimmer of my old Trixie in action! When she wasn't successful in getting past MamaBean, she headed upstairs, left me that lovely deposit, and settled in her poofball bed where she then enjoyed room service while lounging.
We're still on the increased dose of Pepcid for now...I touch base with Vetty on Wednesday. I may try tapering it down a bit more gradually this time...taking her from 5mg BID to 5mg in the morning and 2.5mg in the evening, hold that for a while, then take the morning dose down to 2.5mg. I really, really don't want her to backslide again. The vet is OK with her being on this dose - it's the high end of the range for her weight, but it IS in her range.
She gets a break from follow up pokies today because I only have 2 test strips left - just enough for tonight and tomorrow morning. The strips I ordered last week were supposed to be here Saturday, but of course they didn't show. I just tracked them and they're not in my home town's post office yet, either...but at least they are in NJ. I hope they show up tonight; otherwise I may be forced to run to Walmart for strips and since I would probably only need one more, that would be totally annoying. It's a good thing we're not shooting insulin right now...if we were, I'd definitely be heading to Walmart, and for me that is a fate worse than death!
Gotta kick myself into gear...the morning slips by so quickly these days....
