not sure what to do here. Timber creeped up to 169 at +4 lastnight. this morning he's down a bit to 144. the vet had initially told me that normal range is 4-8 and he was right on the nose at 8 this morning (144). i guess i'll see how the day progresses???

Re: 6/2 Timber AMBG 144; +1 109

i checked him at +1 after he ate. and he's gone down to 109! i'm assuming this is still a good thing even though he's still in the blue?? :-D

Re: 6/2 Timber AMBG 144; +1 109

Hi. I haven't visited Timber's condo before so I'll use this opportunity to say welcome to you and Timber. It looks like he is hanging in the blue area and heading for the Lagoon (green numbers). I can't offer much advice. I would test him at +1.5 to see where he is at and post it. Hopefully he slowed down some. If he drops to a number that makes you nervous edit your subject line a put a question mark at the front. That will alert the experts that you have a question and need help.

Do you have an emergency hypo kit assembled? If not you need to put on together. Folks here can help you with the contents if needed.

Have a great day.

sorry, should have clarified for those who don't regularly follow timber! he's not had insulin in 4 days now so i'm hoping he stays low enough to stay off it! it wasn't a planned OTJ trial. he just kept taking nose dives, even after lowing the dose. i couldn't shoot him one morning as i wasn't going to be home all day and he was pretty low in the morning. since then he's been holding his own without in so i've just been seeing how he does :-D

Nice recovery back to green. Some cats are naturally higher than others. Sometimes low blue numbers are normal BGs.
