another day in my demanding week.... i have to work every day... that's unusual.... but at least it's only in
2-3 hour bouts. I like my flexibility.

Shadow is willing to eat the friskies salmon shreds with gravy ( had to look it up again... 15%) .

got counseling in a bit and need to go get stuff to make the bone broth for fish and for chicken.

@Deanna & Billie or anyone else. do you read that site as feeding only this for a while.... and the bits that you cook in the broth.

Shadow just finished eating... and is lazing in my bed.... ready for her afternoon nap. She had her pred almost 3 hours ago so expecting bg to start rising. ( but I'll check in a few hours and see)

need to eat myself and get moving. bbl...

Rhiannon I also thought that was a little unclear, but I think the broth is meant to be served in addition to meals as more of a supplement, not to replace meals.

"The meat or fish stock will keep well in the fridge for at least seven days or can be frozen. Warm meat stock can be served to your cat at any time of day. Provide warm meat stock as a drink with meals and between meals."

I'd probably serve it straight as a snack at first, and I'd try mixing it in with her regular food for meals hoping it would entice her to eat the regular food. It suggests feeding it as a drink with meals but I feel like if I put a bowl of bone broth next to a bowl of Fancy Feast and Billie liked the broth better, she'd drink the broth and ignore the food. Let us know how it goes!

No experience with the broth. Vines it helps Shadow discover the "taste" of the "good for her" foods. But, eating is eating. And she's eating something. Good.

Still sending appy vines.

Shadow - try this one on for size tonight. ~Neko

That was an interesting read Rhiannon.
Sheba developed diarrhoea which became chronic 18 months ago and that is when she fell out of remission.
It took ages to realise she was allergic to the Hills MD she had been eating for the past 2 years.
After I stopped it she improved immediately.
I started using the bone broth to keep her hydrated and changed her to a mostly raw home prepared diet. Her whole general health is much better since being on the raw and the bone broth. She started to put on a bit of weight after being quite thin for ages and now she is a perfect weight.
After I make the chicken bone broth, I skim off the fat the next day and freeze in ice cube trays. It should be like a jelly or it has too much water in it or not strong enough. I use it every day. It can be given as treats or mixed with the food to make it tastier. You might like to keep the fat on the broth but I take it off as Sheba is prone to pancreatitis.
I don't think there would be enough calories in it to give just that as a meal. I agree with Deanna...I think it is more of a supplement.

Glad to hear that Shadow is eating today. I heard through the grapevine that she is rounding up some help to do some hat-stealing, so she'll need her energy.

I was just peeling the parts just now....she happily took a bite.... and then walked away.
Somedays I think it's the chicken. I may wind up having to make a turkey broth instead since she used to only eat turkey treats and hated the chicken ones.
The bones weren't breakable yet so i'm cooking it some more.

I also bought a whole yellow trout today and will make that one tomorrow, see if she likes it better.

I've been trying and trying to get her to eat raw.... and she's not interested.
I read somewhere on that site to start putting it in another dish next to the one she will eat, and it may take months, but eventually
they learn that it is a food option just by it being right there.
I've got my special acme hat on trying to figure out ways to get her to cooperate.

I's don't cares bout her acme hat.... I've got a strawberries hat to steelz. Shadow

Wendy beat me to it. Any particular reason you're giving the Pred in the morning? If not, it might be worth switching so you can get some rest...

Sending vines - whatever kind you need most - and lots of them!

Yo Shadow, didja get dat hat off da line? I gots me one, too, but my Mama gonna makes me gif it back (I's been a bad girl, I stealz it). I sorry, China.

Wuv,
Lulu
