Hi Folks!
Well Scooter is still OTJ and numbers seem to always be in the 70's unless of course he goes to the buffet. In May he helped himself to bagels, lasagna, hotdog buns, potato chips, and most importantly he walked across the stove top and burnt his paw. He is much better and had recovered from the burn. The Vet mentioned he might not have felt it because someone had declawed him when he was a baby. The job was botched and he had to have a seconded surgery to fix the first. So he may not have any feeling in the paw or delayed feeling. He is okay today.
So last week we read a post on FB that a neighbor was getting rid of a cat because it had "accidents" everywhere. If someone didn't take it the bf was going to shoot it. So we went thru hoops to get this precious soul and he is with us now. We named him Tate but the vet techs call him tater tot.
We were told he was a Bengal manx but have come to find out he is a Bengal mix and he does not have a tail. he is not a "rumpie" for those who know manx kitties. He literally has no tail just a hole where it should have been. Luckily the skin has grown over but not fur. He was really sick with worms and tape worms, intestinal swelling, and lymphocytes in his blood. So we have sent his blood to the lab to rule out or in Cancer. In the meantime he is on anitbiotics and other drugs to get rid of worms and swelling. He was very sick.
5 days later and he is doing amazing on the medicines! His eyes have cleared and he is eating like he has never been fed before! He is on recovery food. He has a loud voice and is very demanding.
We think he is about 8 months old and he was 6 pds on friday. We can't neuter him yet as he is to sick for anesthetic. So we heal and wait to see if he has cancer.
Scooter hates him!! Even though he is in another room and we are slowly introducing him. I think my "little old man" is jealous!
Anyway Tate is safe and sound and so tiny! I have never had a Bengal or a manx but I hear as he gets well he will climb a lot.
His picture is below.
As always thank you!
Linda
