Marshmellow is her normal rambunctious self this AM. She made it to green 2 days in a row (1 probably d/t her depot) which was nice to see, but huge bounces. Is there anything specific that leads to how much of a bounce a cat may have, such as when feeding a drop? Just curious.

I hope everyone has a nice day and safe surfing to all the kitties!

I've not had any luck trying to stop Furball's bouncing. Some people have figured out how to feed to keep their kitties from bouncing so much. I think it comes down to catching a big drop as it starts and feeding to slow the drop and keep the kitty surfing. I hope Marshmellow slides down slowly for you today.

Morning Steve :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Ouch, what a bounce. Greens sure were nice though.

Mannie was such a bouncer. I found that with him, the degree of and speed of one of his drops would tend to create another one. I tried to control the speed of those drops with food. It often meant keeping him at a higher BG to avoid, well try to, another huge bounce, creating a slower descend, rather than just let the greens happen. There were many a time when I had to feed those fast drops with an MC/HC food just to slow him down. The key for me in trying to avoid another one, was getting the LC foods to slow the drops, rather than the MC/HC foods. For him he didn't bounce as high then. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Sometimes he bounced anyways, just because the drop was so fast. Such a guessing game it all is. I used to track what %carb food I fed when so I could see how what I was feeding worked in a given situation. It was easy enough to add a line(s) on his SS to see the pattens.

Back down you go Marshmellow, slowly. Blues and greens are much better!

Have a great day today!

Max bounced for a year. I tried to feed him to prevent big drops and reductions and eventually the big bounces stopped and turned into mini bounces. It's another ECID but I do think preventing reductions seemed to help Max.
