Good Morning Ll

Checks surfed blue, thru the night. Storm kept waking me, so I managed to get a couple tests in, and gave snacks at +9.
All 3 of them, thought it was time for breffis.
He had nice breffis, and pill hidden in small lump of cheese, with spikes of kibble in it. He doesn't know the pill from the kibble.
Dark clouds threatening storms again, but thank God, so far, it's only rain and wind, not the vicious weather, the West is having.

Sincere prayers being sent, for all affected by the tornadoes.

Nice Checks report! LOL on them thinking it was breffis time in the middle of the night...I just love how cats' minds work  !

I'm sorry about the storms there...I hope it remains as calm as possible for you. They're supposed to get here this evening. Have a great day, Barb!

Re: 6/2 Checkers amps 144 +2/217 +3/224+5/179

Diarrhea again. This time, it wasn't caused by gravy. He ate only Friskies Turkey&Giblets Pate, and the small bit of cheese/kibble.

It's the smell that concerns me. Maybe it's normal for D. My other cats don't do it, so I can't compare.
It's strange..kind of metallic, maybe. Burns the nose. Maybe the Tapazole causes the odor?
I gave fortiflora. I need to look at the ingredients, to see what's different from FF's turkey & giblets.

I don't have an answer for you Barb, but I'm sending "tummy settling vines" your way. Maybe even a small bit of cheese doesn't agree with his belly????

Re: 6/2 Checkers amps 144 +2/217 +3/224+5/179

Hi Barb. Looks like Checkers is playing with the buttons in the elevator. Hope the diarrhea is under control. Sending healing vines Checker's way.

Have a great day.

Hi Barb, sending more tummy vines. No fun with the diarrhea. So sorry the SD Friskies T&G may have caused it. That's one Mags likes but for her causes a spike. I'm also using a little kibble to sneak in a pill coated with pill pocket. :-D It works.

Re: 6/2 Checkers amps 144 +2/217 +3/224+5/179+7/229 +10/398

I know, Ann....I got the idea from you

Phooey on +10. I was hoping a no carb snack at +8, would stimulate his pancreas a bit. :YMSIGH:

Ohhhhhh, gee Ann, now you tell me. I forgot to make sure it was the T&G Special Diet Pate...
I got regular, 8%...which has rice. The SD has only 5%., but maybe it's the rice that upset his tummy.

Sienne mentioned gluten recently..does rice have gluten? I thought it was only wheat.

Ann, I meant putting the kibble in the treat.....(cheese for us). It was the cleverest idea.
I have no trouble getting him to take it....thanks :-D

Trying to outsmart the kitties again, are we? LOL! We think we are SO smart and then they give us a smelly LB deposit...they like to mess with OUR heads too ya know!! LOL!!

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

I'm getting this up early, so it will disappear, to the bottom of the list :YMSIGH:
Yes, it's contraband related. Actually, it was kind of clever and cute, how he did it, but uhhhh, I'd rather forget it.

what are we forgetting about?

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

Hey Barb,
Sorry about the contraband... But i'm glad he was clever and cute!! Give him a little "cute and clever" hug from me please.
I hope his tummy is better and the diarrhea is over and done.
No ma'am..rice does not have gluten
sorry to bump you up but i wanted to stop by and say howdy.
xoxo mary

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

Rhiannon, he got into a partially opened drawer. I caught him with his hand in the drawer, scooping up the kibbles out of a flat bowl. I swear, he looked guilty.

Well since you and Mary already put his back up top, I might as well tell what he did...even tho it was my fault.

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

Oh Checkers, did you get caught with your hand in the drawer sneaking kibbles?  He is so clever!
Sorry you got caught though, Checkers.
Oh the kibble and treat, you're welcome, Barb, and glad it works. Mags doesn't even suspect.

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

Ah, Checks...have you out-smarted your bean again?

Don't worry, Barb...Trix does it to me all the time, too  !...

Re: 6/2 Checkers pmps 520

Hi Barb,
Wow, Checkers kept you on your toes today. The kibble in the box in the drawer is too funny. Checkers, now you are paying for that contraband treat: just look at your PMPS! I hope the diarrhea episode is concluded so that life can get back to "normal". The metallic smell could be anything. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for visiting us. I don't know about wild leeks, but I think that I may have seen them in the woods. I'll have to ask one of the people here who are knowledgeable about wild edibles.

Thanks for visiting us. We had a few storms here today, too, but they were short. Hopefully they are all off to the east now and we will have good weather for our Monday Paddle tomorrow.

Have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Hmmm, that's quite a drop in an hour. I don't know what he'd have been bouncing from, 'cuz I really don't think he got much kibble, scooping it up in his little paw. Gosh, he's cute! cat_pet_icon
Maybe he hasn't cleared Friday's 39 and 40's?

Is it tomorrow yet?

Hi Barb - so sorry for the late post.

LOL on the kibble raid. What they will do to get at it.I can so see that paw scooping away....

I really love your kibble treat pill idea. I wish I had thought of it for Mannie. It sure might have helped with all those meds he had. Then again - maybe not. He always did know when there was a pill tucked into something   darn cat!

I will hope Checkers clears his bounce/kibble raid soon. What goes up must come down. Right Checks?

I will hope for better weather for yu today/tomorrow. Sure sounds like one heckuva storm went through there. stay safe.

Barb

I'm also sorry for being late. I've become nocturnal like a vampire ;-)

I think for Checks, I wouldn't feed late in the cycle, if possible. It actually slows down the way the insulin works. Feeding those late cycle snacks mostly helps those cats who are about ready to go OTJ and who have a working pancreas.

Hope the storms were not bad.
